U.S. Representative Young Kim (CA-40) was selected to serve on the House Financial Services Committee in the 118th Congress.
Prior to serving in Congress, Rep. Kim worked as a controller and financial analyst and started a small business.
“My Southern California community is home to tens of thousands of small businesses and financial institutions owned by Americans of all backgrounds. The voices of these entrepreneurs deserve to be heard,” said Rep. Kim. “I am thrilled to serve on the House Financial Services Committee to fight for the unique needs of my community and add my perspective as a controller and financial analyst who also started a small business. I look forward to getting to work to get our economy back on track, help entrepreneurs access capital, reduce regulatory costs and ensure the American dream remains alive for future generations.”
“Congresswoman Young Kim’s experience as a financial analyst and entrepreneur make her a valuable addition to the Committee,” said Chairman Patrick McHenry (NC-10). “She is a force of nature and will be an asset to an already successful group of Republican members. I look forward to working with Young as we continue to promote pro-growth solutions to support American families.”
The House Financial Services Committee covers policy issues related to the economy, the banking system, housing, insurance, and securities and exchanges. The Committee also has jurisdiction over monetary policy, international finance, international monetary organizations and efforts to combat terrorist financing.
