Killer Mike, one half of the massively successful rap duo Run the Jewels, was reportedly seen in handcuffs at Crypto.com Arena, the site of Sunday’s Grammy Awards, according to reporting from the Associated Press.
Video of the incident posted to X, formerly Twitter, by Chris Gardener of the Hollywood Reporter, shows Killer Mike, whose real name is Michael Santiago Render, surrounded by several uniformed men as he was led through the arena by police.
The incident came after the Atlanta-based rapper won three Grammy’s, including best rap performance, rap song and album.
“Sweep! Atlanta, it’s a sweep!” the rapper shouted as he received his third award of the night, the AP reported.
It is unclear what led to Killer Mike being detained, cuffed and led out of Crypto.
A spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department would only confirm that a Black male was detained.
