Long Beach Police Chief Wally Hebeish has selected Lieutenant Mike Solomita, a 25-year veteran of the Police Department, Lieutenant Scott Jenson, a 23-year veteran of the Police Department, Lieutenant Stephanie Hall, a 22-year veteran of the Police Department, and Lieutenant Greg Brown, a 26-year veteran of the Police Department for promotion to the rank of Commander effective August 13, 2022.
“I am excited to promote four new leaders in our organization,” said Police Chief Wally Hebeish. “These new promotees have demonstrated a commitment to the Long Beach Police Department and the City of Long Beach. As we continue moving forward as an organization, I have no doubt that Commanders Solomita, Jenson, Hall, and Brown will complement our existing command staff with valuable perspective and insight into our vision of a safe, healthy, and welcoming community for all.”
Commander Mike Solomita began his career with the Long Beach Police Department as a police recruit in 1997. He promoted to Sergeant in 2013, and then to Lieutenant in 2019. Commander Solomita has worked many diverse assignments throughout his career and was most recently assigned to Internal Affairs as a Lieutenant. Commander Solomita holds a Master of Arts in Public Policy and Administration from California State University, Long Beach and a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and Political Science from California State University, Fullerton. | |
Commander Scott Jenson began his career with the Long Beach Department as police recruit in 1999. He promoted to Sergeant in 2010, and then to Lieutenant in 2021. Commander Jenson has worked a variety of assignments and was most recently assigned to the Patrol Bureau as an Administrative Lieutenant. Commander Jenson holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of California, San Diego. | |
Commander Stephanie Hall began her career with the Long Beach Police Department as a Police Recruit in 2000. She promoted to Sergeant in 2015, and then to Lieutenant in 2021. Commander Hall has worked an array of assignments throughout her time with the LBPD and was most recently assigned to the Special Enforcement Section as a Lieutenant where she oversaw SWAT, Air Support Unit, K-9 Unit, and Motors. She is the first woman in LBPD history to hold this rank in the Special Enforcement Section. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from California State University, Long Beach and is a graduate of the Sherman Block Leadership Institute and the FBI National Academy. | |
Commander Greg Brown began his career with the Long Beach Police Department in 1996 as a police officer. He promoted to Sergeant in 2010, and then to Lieutenant in 2020. Commander Brown has held various assignments throughout his career and was most recently assigned to the Criminal Intelligence Section as a Lieutenant and as Acting Administrator of the Records Division. Commander Brown holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from University of California at Los Angeles, and a Master of Science in Emergency Services Administration from California State University, Long Beach. |
Commander Solomita will be assigned to the Chief of Police’s Office where he’ll serve as Chief of Staff, Commander Jenson will be assigned to the West Patrol Division, Commander Hall will be assigned to the South Patrol Division, and Commander Brown will be assigned to the Detectives Division.
Chief Hebeish said, “I also want to congratulate our new sergeants and lieutenants and thank them for their willingness to step into leadership roles within our organization.”
