Members of the South all-stars who defeated the North Saturday. (Photos courtesy Sara Humphries).
The South banged out 10 hits and went on to defeat the North 7-2 in the inaugural Orange Grove Conference Senior All-Star Baseball game Saturday at Glover Stadium in Anaheim, according to Estancia Coach Nate Goellrich.
The North was limited to six hits in the eight-inning game. MVP awards were handed out after the game.
The North vs. the South game used the 22 Freeway as the dividing line, according to Estancia Coach Nate Goellrich.

North schools include Savanna, Anaheim, Orange, Rancho Alamitos, Loara, Western and Magnolia. South Schools include Century, Estancia, Los Amigos, La Quinta, Bolsa Grande, Saddleback, Santiago, and Santa Ana Valley.
Goellrich, who led Estancia to the CIF Division 6 title and a berth into the semifinals of the CIF So Cal Division IV playoffs, provided details for OC Sports Zone.
Andrew Tabita of Anaheim started on the mound for the North team and pitched two scoreless innings.
Andy Santana of Century started for the South, pitching a scoreless bottom of the first inning. Steven Esteves of Los Amigos pitched the bottom of the second for the South team hurling a scoreless inning, striking out two.
Scoring started in the third inning. Santana of Century walked, stole second base and scored on an RBI single by Jacob Ramirez from Estancia putting the South ahead 1-0.
Mitchell Osorio from Orange pitched the third and fourth innings for the North. Diego Enriquez from Saddleback pitched the third and fourth innings for the South.
The North team tied the game in the bottom of the third inning. Andrew Tapia from Anaheim started the inning off with a double. Gogh Nakagawa from Orange followed up with an infield single. Anthony Zaragoza from Orange then grounded out, driving in Tapia.
Top of the fourth inning was a big inning for the South, led by players from Saddleback.
Ricardo Marquez of Saddleback started the inning off with a single. Riley Rokowski of La Quinta followed with a single.
Ruben Gutierrez from Saddleback then singled to drive in Ricardo Marquez. Diego Enriquez from Saddleback then singled to score Riley Rokowski. Anthony Lopez of Saddleback reached on an error which allowed Ruben Gutierrez to score.
Anthony Zaragoza of Orange had an excellent diving catch in left field but the South had a 4-1 lead after the top of the fourth inning.
In the bottom of the fourth inning, Javier Carrillo of Savanna started the inning off with a double. Randy Rojas of Anaheim then doubled to score Javier Carrillo cutting the South lead to 4-2.
Carson Labossiere of Rancho Alamitos pitched the top of the fifth inning for the North team, throwing a scoreless inning.
Jakson Clark from La Quinta then pitched the bottom of the fifth inning for the South team and matched that with a scoreless inning, striking out two batters.
Julian Ramos of Anaheim pitched the next two innings for the North. He pitched a scoreless top of the sixth inning and got a 6-4-3 double play to end the inning.
Tank Britton from Bolsa Grande pitched the bottom of the 6th inning for the South team. Andrew Tabita of Anaheim and Santiago Cortez of Magnolia each had infield singles for the North. but the North was unable to score in the inning.
The South scored in the top of the seventh inning. Jake Humphries from Estancia had a single to right field. Vaughn McCrea from Estancia then had a deep single to left center field, Humphries came around to score on the play. Andy Sanchez from Century walked in the inning as well. The South led 5-2 after the top of the seventh.
Ismael Valverde from Century pitched the bottom of the seventh inning for the South. Javier Carrillo from Savanna walked and stole second base , but the North team was held scoreless.
Randy Rojas of Anaheim pitched the top of the eighth inning for the North team.
Geoffrey Guerrero from Bolsa Grande and Ruben Gutierrez of Saddleback each walked in the inning for the South team. Both advanced to put runners on second and third with Anthony Lopez from Saddleback at the plate. Lopez legged out an infield single that scored both Geoffrey Guerrero and Ruben Gutierrez to put the South ahead 7-2 going into the bottom of the eighth inning.
Jake Humphries from Estancia pitched the bottom of the eigthth inning for the South team. He struck out two in the inning. Anthony Lopez of Saddleback had a diving catch in right field.
Awards:
South player of the game: Anthony Lopez, Saddleback. Lopez had a single with two RBI, reached base on base another at bat as well and had an excellent diving catch on defense for the South.
North player of the game: Andrew Tabita, Anaheim. Tabita pitched two scoreless innings on the mound. He had two hits including a double with a stolen base and run scored.
Most Valuable Player of the game: Jake Humphries, Estancia. Humphries was 3 for 3 at the plate with a stolen base, run scored and pitched a scoreless inning on the mound with two strikeouts,
