The Segerstrom High School band performed during timeouts and at halftime and the Segerstrom cheer squad also participated.

The LA all-stars were led by game MVP Riley Trosclair from St. Mary’s High School.

“I thought they played really hard, it was a tremendous honor to have the opportunity to coach a fine young group of athletes in such a short time,” said the LA County coach Victor Tuverosi. “They picked it up really well. The rushers were unbelievable.”

Trosclair, Saille Howard from Inglewood and Sofia Aceves from Warren put constant pressure on the OC offense.

Quarterback Jaylin Macias from Marshall High School led the LA offense.

Although OC wasn’t able to score, Coach Rebekah Anderson from Canyon said she was proud of the players efforts.

“I was really excited about so many great plays,” Anderson said. “There were solid catches as well as interceptions and flag pulls and sacks, we did a lot of great things, their rushers got the best of us. They put a lot of pressure on our QB all game, they did a great job but very proud of each and every one of them and real excited for each of their futures.”

Despite facing a heavy rush, Ella Feldhaus from Canyon was able to complete some passes for OC. During the regular season, she passed for 4,663 yards and 58 touchdowns.

“She was scrambling like crazy and Taylor Savage (Huntington Beach) had some savage catches, Piper Kawanka (Trabuco Hills) was on fire on both sides of the ball with great plays, interceptions and both of our rushers had some sacks that were game-changers as well,” Anderson said.

Feldhaus was named the OC player of the game.

“I’m very proud of her, she’s a solid athlete, solid quarterback and a great person,” Anderson said.

The LA County team took a 6-0 lead when Macias connected with Lolana Nuhi-Yandall on a 40-yard TD pass in the first quarter. LA extended its lead to 12-0 when Macias threw a 1-yard TD pass to Chloe Cottom from Downey in the third quarter.
