Crean Lutheran High School’s girls basketball team inched closer to capturing the Crestview League title with a 44-30 home victory over El Dorado Friday evening.
The Saints (20-4 overall) lead the league with a 5-0 record with three more league games left, including Tuesday’s home game against Esperanza at 5:30 p.m.

Elise Randolph and Sydnee Norwood each scored 10 points to lead Crean Lutheran past El Dorado (16-9, 4-2). Stacy Echtenkamp and Micaela Hanning had seven points each for the Saints.
“Thankful that we put a high price tag on defense in this case,” said Crean Lutheran Coach Kyle Rouse. “We held El Dorado to six total points in the first half which helped us secure a 44-30 win against a tough El Dorado team.
“We played sluggish in the second half on offense which led to a nice second half fun by the Hawks. Fortunately our first half success on both ends of the floor gave us a big enough cushion.”
Rouse said he still sees room for improvement.
“Our biggest thing is consistency right now, when we play Saints basketball consistently, we’re very tough,” he said. “But we have to put two halves together, especially leading into a tough Esperanza team Tuesday.”
