“First off I have nothing but love and respect for Coach (Shonyta) Pouncey and his basketball program,” said Godinez Coach AJ Alaman. “He’s done nothing but great things since he has taken over. We knew we needed to get this one.
“My assistant Coach Damien Gentry hit the nail right on the head when he told the girls during pregame, ‘to be the best, you have to beat the best.’”‘
“With everything going on outside of the game it made me think how focused will my girls be tonight. I’m so proud of how we locked in and locked down to excute down the stretch. We remain in the driver’s seat and control our own destiny. It was a great night to be a part of the Lady Grizzlies basketball program.”
