PHOTOS: A Look at Josh D’Amaro, Incoming Walt Disney CEO

Josh D’Amaro, current chairman of Disney Experiences, will be the new CEO of The Walt Disney Co., effective March 18.

D’Amaro started his Disney career, now 28 years and counting, in 1998 at the Disneyland Resort. In 2018, he became president of the Anaheim resort and led the local theme parks, hotels and retail district for the next few years before switching coasts.

Most notably, D’Amaro oversaw the 2019 opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

Josh D’Amaro, as the chairman of Disney Experiences, often took the stage during the company’s annual D23 fan convention to announce projects coming to the parks, cruise fleet, hotels and more. D’Amaro in 2024 revealed the upcoming “Avatar”-themed land planned for California Adventure during the DISNEY EXPERIENCES marquee showcase at the Honda Center (The Walt Disney Company)



Josh D’Amaro serves on the board of Make-A-Wish America and last July worked with the organization to grant the Disney company’s 170,000th wish at the Disneyland Resort.



Incoming CEO Josh D’Amaro visited the Disneyland Resort last October for a Halloween event hosted by Disney, Make-A-Wish and YouTuber MrBeast to host top content creators at the Anaheim parks for 40 Make-A-Wish kids (Disneyland Resort)
