PACIFICA 2, CREAN LUTHERAN 1: Aiden Marquez had a two-out walk-off double for Pacifica, which won both games of the Empire League series against Crean Lutheran. Logan Brady got the win, pitching seven innings and striking out seven. Ryland Chastain was 1 for 2 with a walk, Tristan Brinkman 1 for 2 with a walk and a run scored and Ryan Anema was 1 for 2 for Pacifica (16-2, 4-0).
Crean Lutheran, ranked No. 1 in the CIF Division 4 poll this week, was led by James Derflinger, who was 1 for 3 with a home run. Wyatt Nichol pitched the first three innings, striking out three. Jack Sand then pitched two innings, allowing no hits and no runs and striking out three, according to Coach Jake Haney. The Saints are 14-4 overall and 2-2 in league play.
FULLERTON 8, SONORA 1: The Tribe completed a Freeway League sweep against Sonora Thursday. Mathew Carbajal pitched six innings, allowing three earned runs and struck out three. Zach Fany was 3 for 4 with two RBI and a run scored and George Papadatos was 2 for 4 with a home run.
HUNTINGTON BEACH 10, CORONA DEL MAR 8: Bradley Navarro had a two-run home run to lift the Oilers (14-6, 4-1) to the Surf League win.
