Pacifica, Corona del Mar, Foothill, Costa Mesa and Tesoro capture Wednesday victories

Pacifica 1, Bishop Amat 0: The Mariners improved their record to 4-1 with a victory Wednesday in the Loara Tournament. Chad Gurnea had a complete game shutout and struck out 11. He also had three hits and a sacrifice fly. Ryan Anema was 2 for 3 with a run scored for the Mariners.

Corona del Mar 10, Tustin 7: The Sea Kings captured a win in the Newport Elks Tournament. Jake Garcia came on in relief to get the victory. He pitched four innings without giving up an earned run.

Foothill 6, Santa Margarita 8: The Knights banged out 12 hits in the road victory Wednesday. Ernesto Garcia pitched two innings to get the victory, allowing no earned runs and striking out two. Andrew Parker, who pitched three innings, got the save, striking out two. Ty Cowley was 2 for 4 with a run scored and two RBI, Parker was 2 for 3 with a double, walk, two runs scored an an RBI, Andrew Harbour was 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI and Tyler Hawkins was 2 for 4 with a run scored and an RBI.

Costa Mesa 20, Rowland 1: Michael Joyce (2-0) was the winning pitcher. In four innings, he allowed two hits and struck out six. Aiden Comte was 2 for 2 with a double and five RBI, Grady Jackson was 3 for 4 with two RBI, Matt Anderson was 2 for 2 with a double, home run and six RBI, Omar Gutierrez was 2 for 3 with three runs scored and an RBI and Wylan Rottschafer was 1 for 2 with four runs scored and an RBI to lead the offensive attack for Costa Mesa (6-0).

Tesoro 5, St. John Bosco 4: Jackson Freeman was 2 for 4 with a triple and three RBI and Carter Jorissen was 2 for 3 with two RBI to lead the Titans.
