Over 500 women attended last week’s National Menopause Show in Anaheim

Last week’s National Menopause Show event at the Anaheim Convention Center hosted 25 exhibitors, 15 speakers, and welcomed over 500 attendees.

This was the first event of its kind in the region. The expo blends trusted products, services, and expert-led education to empower women across Los Angeles, Orange County, and beyond.

I brought my wife to the event, and she learned a lot from the panelists and speakers as well as a menopause specialist doctor and a compound pharmacist. Unfortunately, women in the U.S. have not been served well by the medical community when it comes to treating menopause.

Show highlights included:

  • Angela Macgregor, Founder of the National Menopause Show. A veteran event producer and longtime Southern California resident, Angela created the show after her own frustrating search for credible menopause information.
  • Dr. LaKeischa Webb McMillan, “The International Menopause Whisperer™.” A board-certified Integrative OB-GYN, hormone specialist, and featured expert on Oprah’s OWN TV, Dr. LaKeischa brings myth-busting, evidence-based advice with a relatable style. Her “Menopause 101” session addressed:
    • Why a single hormone test can’t diagnose menopause—and what to ask your doctor instead
    • Top misconceptions that keep women from effective treatment
    • How menopause impacts women differently by race and ethnicity, and why Black women often face the steepest barriers
    • Why hormone therapy deserves a fresh, evidence-based look

The next National Menopause Show is set for October 18-19, 2025, at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.

As of 2025, it’s estimated that over 70 million women in the United States are currently in some stage of menopause, which includes:

  • Perimenopause (the transition phase before menopause),
  • Menopause (defined as 12 months after a woman’s last period),
  • Postmenopause (the years following menopause). [howwebecam…family.com]

Key Stats:

  • 6,000 women in the U.S. reach menopause each day, totaling about 1.3 million annually.
  • This transition typically occurs between ages 45 and 55, with the average age being 51.
  • Around 90% of women experience symptoms such as hot flashes, insomnia, brain fog, and mood changes during this time.

This means nearly a quarter of the U.S. female population is navigating menopause-related changes right now.

Why These Symptoms Occur

Most symptoms are linked to fluctuating and declining estrogen and progesterone levels, which affect many systems in the body. Estrogen receptors exist throughout the body, including the brain, skin, bones, and cardiovascular system.
