PACIFIC COAST LEAGUE
WOODBRIDGE 11, SAGE HILL 0: The Warriors opened Pacific Coast League play with a victory Wednesday at Sage Hill. All nine starters collected a hit for Coach Ryan Brucker’s team (8-2, 1-0). Eight players scored a run and six players had an RBI. Vincent DeMarco earned the win, pitching the first five innings. He allowed two hits and struck out 10.
The teams are scheduled to play again Friday at Ryan Lemmon Stadium.
Laguna Beach 5, Irvine 2
Portola 5, University 3
SAN JOAQUIN LEAGUE
PACIFICA CHRISTIAN 4, WEBB 0: Johnny Coopman pitched five innings, striking out 10 and did not allow an earned run. Reliever Jon Stone pitched two scoreless innings, striking out three for the Tritons (3-4, 1-0).
Coopman had two RBI and Bowen Gate had two hits and a double. Luke Miller had a triple for Pacifica Christian.
CRESTVIEW LEAGUE
El DORADO 3, CYPRESS 2: The Centurions (4-4, 3-1) suffered their first league loss after winning their opening three games.
SUNSET LEAGUE
HUNTINGTON BEACH 3, FOUNTAIN VALLEY 2: Jared Grindlinger recorded a big strikeout for the third and final out of the game to lead the Oilers (3-0, 1-0) to the win.
NON-LEAGUE
LA QUINTA 14, ESTANCIA 12: Estancia (4-3) was led by Sawyer Atkinson, who was 1 for 2 with a run scored, RBI, double and three walks. Sean Sweeney was 3 for 5 with two runs scored, two RBI and a double and Jacob Ramirez was 0 for 2 with a sacrifice fly for the Eagles.
Corona del Mar 3, Capo Valley Christian 2
TUESDAY HIGHLIGHT:
Kennedy pitcher Tyler Onofre pitched a no-hitter Tuesday leading the Fighting Irish to a 2-1 Empire League victory over Buena Park. Onofre allowed no earned runs and struck out 11. Jonathan Arreola was 1 for 2 with an RBI and a walk and Alonzo Alvarez was 1 for 1.
