CREAN LUTHERAN 69, COEUR d’ ALENE 64: The Saints opened up play in the Nike Division of the tournament with a win Wednesday. Crean Lutheran (4-2) was led by Will Malual who had 21 points and seven rebounds, Hunter Caplan, who had 20 points and four assists and Jacob Majok who had nine points, nine rebounds and three assists.
CAPO VALLEY CHRISTIAN 79, CORAL ACADEMY 45: CVC was led by Matthew Ahern, who scored 24 points and Michael A’Hern, who had 19 points. Shaunt Kechejian added 17 points.
SUNSET LEAGUE
NEWPORT HARBOR 60, MARINA 43: The Sailors won the league opener on the road. Jack Berry scored 24 points and had 10 rebounds and Owen Saukkola 16 points and four 3-pointers to lead Newport Harbor (10-3, 1-0).
NON-LEAGUE
IRVINE 67, GODINEZ 30: The Vaqueros (10-2) won a home game Wednesday night. Jalen Yim had 16 points, four rebounds, four steals and one assist, Cooper Stearns had 11 points, eight rebounds, four assists and one steal, Ali Dal had 10 points, five rebounds, four assists and one block and Holden Stearns 10 points, one rebound, two assists and a steal to lead Irvine.
Godinez (6-7) was led by Jaiden Torres, who had 10 points.
