Orange Coast College will hold its annual World Dance Celebration on Friday, May 20 at 7:30 p.m. in the Robert B. Moore Theatre.
This year’s showcase will showcase the OCC dance department’s cultural diversity, with performances featuring dance, music, costumes and storytelling from around the world.
“This is an opportunity for students to experience dance performance, and to promote styles of dance from around the world,” says OCC Dance instructor and show director Angelika Nemeth. “An event like this connects and bridges cultures.”
There will be two showings of the 60-minute concert — one at 11 a.m. that is free to elementary, middle and high school students, and the evening performance. The cast includes renowned Coast dance faculty, advanced students, members of the College’s World Dance Ensemble, and guest artists.
