Orange County youth baseball teams will compete in the 10-and-under Mustang and 12-and-under Bronco regional tournaments beginning Thursday, July 7 at Hicks Canyon Park in Irvine, according to Irvine Pony President JD Hardin.
Irvine Pony Baseball is hosting both tournaments.
“Our 10-and-under team, Ben Star’s Colts team, will be representing us for Mustang and our 12-and-under team, Brad Gramlich’s Colts, fresh off their successful visit to Cooperstown, will represent us in the Bronco Division,” Hardin said.
Hicks Canyon Park is located at 3864 Viewpark Ave., Irvine.
Mustang 10-and-under (field 2)
Olive, South Bay, Placentia, East Long Beach, Torrance, Santa Ana and Irvine will have teams.
On Thursday, Olive will play South Bay at 5 p.m. and Placentia will meet East Long Beach at 7:15 p.m. On Friday, Torrance meets Santa Ana at 5 p.m. and Irvine meets the winner of the Placentia-East Long Beach game at 7:15 p.m.
The tournament continues Saturday and Sunday with the championship Monday at 5 p.m.
The top three teams advance to the super regionals.
Bronco 12-and-under (field 1)
In the Bronco tournament, Placentia, Cypress, South Bay, Irvine, Olive, Santa Ana and Torrance will have teams.
On Thursday, Placentia will meet Cypress at 5 p.m. and South Bay will face Irvine at 7:15 p.m. On Friday, Olive faces Santa Ana at 5 p.m. and Torrance meets the winner of the South Bay vs. Irvine game at 7:15 p.m.
