OC teams earn high seeds for CIF boys and girls lacrosse playoffs starting Monday

Mater Dei is seeded first, St. Margaret’s second, Foothill third and Corona del Mar fourth in the CIF Division 1 boys lacrosse playoffs announced on Saturday.

In the Division 2 boys bracket, Saugus is first, St. John Bosco second, Beckman third and Aliso Niguel fourth.

Vista Murrieta is first, Crescenta Valley second, Canyon third and Mission Viejo fourth in Division 3.

In the girls playoffs, Foothill is seeded first and Santa Margarita third in Division 1. Mater Dei is first, Corona del Mar second and Newport Harbor third in Division 2.

No Orange County teams are seeded in the top four of Division 3. Mira Costa is seeded first.

CIF officials said there are six divisions (three boys and three girls) in the playoffs, with wild card rounds in some divisions Monday. First round matches are scheduled for Tuesday in all divisions.

There are 63 boys teams and 53 girls teams competing, according to CIF officials. The finals will be held at Downey High for the boys and girls divisions on Friday, May 13 and Saturday, May 14.
