Supervisor Katrina Foley issued the following statement regarding the United States Senate’s confirmation of Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court of the United States on April 7, 2022:

“I join our county and nation in celebrating Justice Jackson’s historic confirmation as the first Black woman to serve on the Supreme Court of the United States of America. The bipartisan support of her confirmation by the Senate to our highest court closer reflects the diversity of our great nation. Her confirmation inspires the next generation to keep dreaming and confirms for young people that equality, inclusivity, and justice are their birthright and the future of our Country. I am confident that Justice Jackson continue to use her well qualified voice to ensure fair and just access to justice for all. While there is still much work to do to ensure the equality and justice for all guaranteed by our United States Constitution and the pledge of allegiance we make to our United States of America when we salute our flag, Justice Jackson’s confirmation inspires us all and reminds us that the best days for our nation lie ahead.”
