Some CIF baseball playoff games were played on Wednesday, May 3, in antipation of possible rain on Thursday. The rest of the Division 1, 3, 5 and 7 games are still scheduled for Thursday. Games for Division 2, 4 and 6 are scheduled for Friday.

DIVISION 1

Huntington Beach 3, Warren 2

Orange Lutheran 8, Arlington 3

San Dimas 3, El Dorado 2

DIVISION 3

Yorba Linda 6, Corona Centennial 2: The Mustangs (15-12-1) were led by JJ Conrad, who pitched seven innings, allowing two earned runs. Jacob Talbott was 1 for 3 with a home run, walk and three RBI, Caden Maloof was 2 for 3 with a home run and three runs scored and Raymond Kim was 1 for 3 with an RBI.

DIVISION 5

Katella 5, Whittier Christian 4

Estancia 11, Salesian 1: The Eagles (21-6) were led by Andrew Mits, who pitched a complete game, allowing no earned runs and five hits while striking out nine. Offensively, Cole Lefebvre was 3 for 4 with two runs scored and a double; James De La O was 1 for 2 with a run scored and three RBI; Andrew Coyotzi was 2 for 4 with a run scored, two RBI, a double and a triple; Sawyer Atkinson was 1 for 1 with three runs scored, an RBI and a triple; and Jake Humphries was 2 for 4 with a run scored and an RBI.

Estancia moves on to the second round Tuesday against the winner of the Liberty vs. Colton game, scheduled for Thursday.

(Wild card)

Costa Mesa 14, Desert Mirage 0: Costa Mesa (19-8), an at-large team from the Orange Coast League, notched a wild card win Wednesday. Michael Joyce pitched six innings, allowing four hits and no earned runs and struck out four. Wylan Rottschafer was 3 for 4 with two runs scored and two RBI, Omar Gutierrez was 2 for 5 with two RBI; and Sam Stute was 2 for 4 with two RBI.

The Mustangs play at Trinity Classical on Friday.
