PACIFIC COAST LEAGUE
Northwood gets forfeit win vs. Laguna Hills: Northwood was awarded a forfeit win Monday when Laguna Hills was unable to field enough players. “Not enough players due to injury, illness and conflicting commitments. Just this game (hopefully),” said Jay Chadwick, assistant principal for athletics at Laguna Hills.
Northwood basketball coach Christian Manalo said Monday night he was disappointed for his seniors since he had planned a senior night. He is hoping it can be rescheduled at a later date. Northwood is 18-6 overall and 5-1 in the PCL. Laguna Hills is 1-21 overall, 0-6 in league.
Irvine 65, Portola 39: Irvine (13-11, 4-2) was led by Jaesang An, who had 21 points and made 4 of 6 3-pointers. Cooper Stearns had 13 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and two blocks, Archit Raul had nine points and four rebounds and Taewon Kim eight points, seven assists and two rebounds for the Vaqueros.
Woodbridge 64, Beckman 51: Woodbridge (17-8, 4-2) was led by JC Schindler who had 23 points and seven rebounds. Stephen Lamp had 12 points and seven rebounds, Jaiden Sabino 12 points, eight rebounds and six assists and Jason Briggs 12 points and four rebounds.
Sage Hill 88, University 81: Sage Hill battled back from a 12-point deficit early in the second half to win. The Lightning (12-12, 5-1) were led by Sergio Maggette, who had 31 points and four 3-pointers. Johnny Mayhew had 24 points and Jackson Cryst 23 points. University (7-16, 1-5) was led by Christian DeBarge, who had 28 points and nine assists. Andrew Bogard had 22 points, making 6 of 7 3-point attempts.
MacKay Nelson was one block short of a triple double. He had 12 points, 14 rebounds and nine blocks off the bench. Shervin Moarrefian added 11 points.
SOUTH COAST LEAGUE
San Clemente 45, Trabuco Hills 41: San Clemente (19-5, 4-0) was led by Chase Tolliver, who had 15 points and 17 rebounds and Will Whidden who had 13 points. Trabuco Hills (17-7, 2-2) was led by Sam Meza-Tallada, who had 19 points and Matt Mowers, who had 12 points and 13 rebounds.
San Juan Hills 61, Tesoro 48: The Stallions (15-8, 3-1) were led by Nate Brosch, who had 25 points and Mason Hodges, who scored 18 points.
EMPIRE LEAGUE
Cypress 65, Tustin 50: League-leading Cypress (18-5, 6-0) remained undefeated in league with the home win. Michael Wright led Cypress with 24 points. Jonah Kim added 17 points and Ryan Gov 15 points. Tustin (14-10, 3-3) was led by Brady Kong and Carson Jue, who had 12 points each.
Cypress jumped out to an 18-0 lead to start the game.
“I was really impressed with our ability to adapt defensively to all the screens that Tustin runs a defender through,” said Cypress Coach Derek Mitchell. (Ringo) Bossenmeyer teams are always tough defensively, and they make you work just as hard, guarding them. King (Birdsong) and Jonah did a good job tonight.”
Crean Lutheran 69, Kennedy 41: Crean Lutheran (12-11, 5-1) was led by Kaiden Bailey, who had 20 points. Milanas Luksas added 12 points and Troy Jenkins 11 points. Crean Lutheran led 44-17 at halftime.

Portola 69, Irvine 43: Kira Watanabe had 12 points, Kalynne Abraham Mendez 11 points and Nina Saiki 10 points to lead Portola (19-4, 1-1) Irvine (12-10, 1-2) was led by Kyara Vargas, who had 10 points.
Portola Coach Brian Barham earned his 100th career varsity win.
Sage Hill 92, University 22: Sage Hill (19-2) was led by Emily Eadie, who had 19 points. Kamdyn Klamberg added 13 points. Amalia Holguin, Kate Righeimer and Annabelle Spotts added 11 points each. University (9-13) was led by Ai Miyano with 11 points.
