Dave’s Hot Chicken will serve beer and wine when the eatery opens in the Alicia Landing center next month, under a plan the Planning and Transportation Commission approved on Monday.

Dave’s Hot Chicken, which is expected to open on March 30 at 24440 Alicia Parkway, Suite 3, specializes in hot chicken tenders and sliders along with sides of house-made kale slaw, macaroni and cheese and French fries. Offered at seven various spice levels ranging from “No Spice” to the extremely hot “Reaper,” each piece of hand-breaded chicken is spiced to order. When the establishment opens, it will also serve beer and wine indoors and in a patio dining area.

Along with allowing Dave’s Hot Chicken to serve alcohol, the Planning Commission also approved a plan for Jk Burgers and Tacos to serve beer and wine in the Green Street Center at 28662 Marguerite Parkway, Suite 202. This locally owned small business, which opened last fall, specializes in fresh grilled  burgers and tasty tacos along with sandwiches and salads.

In other restaurant news, Sessions West Coast Deli was expected to open this week at The Shops at Mission Viejo. The restaurant serves fresh salads, signature sandwiches and breakfast specialties.
