ANAHEIM, Calif. (Feb. 5, 2024) — Monday morning update: There are no major issues in Anaheim overnight or this morning but continue to use caution after hours of rain and more ahead of us.
City crews patrolled our streets overnight and do so this morning.
We’ve seen two weather-related power outages, now restored, street flooding and debris in roadways.
The most significant issues are to the north of us.
Here in Anaheim, avoid driving Monday morning and throughout the day where possible.
Monday calls for moderate to light rain all day. Winds are mild but still present a challenge with rain.
Hour after hour of rain brings major water buildup in intersections, roads, around your home, at businesses and other areas.
Rain is forecast all day Tuesday into Wednesday, though lighter than Sunday and Monday.
Continue to plan for rain around your home, business or on necessary outings.
Most businesses are open in our city.
Anaheim sandbag stations and bags are available to residents and businesses.
On Monday, our Public Works yard has free bags and sand to fill bags. The yard is at 400 E. Vermont St. and is open Monday-Thursday from 6:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Fridays from 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. It’s closed weekends.
You can get empty bags at any Anaheim Fire & Rescue station.
If there’s no answer, our crews are out serving our community. Anaheim Fire & Rescue teams are prepared for water rescues, debris flows, accidents and any other emergencies.
With empty sandbags, use soil from your yard to fill the bags, returning the soil later.
Or visit home improvement stores to buy sandbags.
STREET SWEEPING AND TRASH
Street sweeping for Monday routes is canceled. We will update for Tuesday and the rest of the week later.
Waste pickup continues as scheduled.
Place bins a foot or more from the curb to allow water flow.
