Malibu mansion gutted by Kanye West loses $18 million in value: Reports

A Malibu mansion that was gutted by Kanye West is on sale for $18 million less than the famous rapper paid for it, according to a recent reports.

The dramatic changes to the mansion ordered by West included tearing out stairs, cabinetry, an entire kitchen, and removing the air conditioning water and power, according to the New Yorker.

“He talked of clarity, simplicity, and a kind of self-reliance,” the magazine stated.

Aerial video from Sky5 over the mansion on Tuesday showed much of the home has been gutted, including walls, windows and decks. A portion of the roof is also missing.

West bought the mansion less than 3 years ago for more than $57 million, TMZ reported i 2021.

In December of last year, Kanye decided to sell the home. It was initially listed at $53 million but dropped recently to $39 million, the New York Post reported.

Sources told the Post the price is likely to drop even further before it sells.
