On Mar 13, 2022, at approximately 8:03 a.m., officers responded to the sandy beach area north of the bike path, south of the 1900 block of East Ocean Boulevard, to assist the Long Beach Fire Department who was on scene with a deceased female.
Upon arrival, officers observed a woman, appearing to be in her thirties, lying adjacent to a building in the area north of the beach bike path. Homicide detectives were called to the scene due to the suspicious location of the body and lack of explanation for her death. As a result of their investigation, detectives are investigating the incident as a murder.
An investigator with the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner arrived on scene to assist with the investigation, and take possession of the body. The Coroner’s office will work to determine the cause of death, identify the victim, and notify the next of kin.
