Long Beach Police Department investigating fatal shooting in 6100 block of Long Beach Boulevard

On April 1, 2022, at approximately 9:13 p.m., officers responded to the 6100 block of Long Beach Boulevard regarding a shooting that had just occurred, which resulted in the death of a male adult.

Upon arrival, officers located a male adult victim suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper body. Officers began rendering life-saving measures until Long Beach Fire Department personnel arrived and transported the victim to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Homicide Detectives responded to the scene to investigate the incident. The preliminary investigation revealed that a male suspect approached a group of subjects and got into a verbal dispute with the group, which escalated into a shooting. The suspect then fled the area, and at this time, no additional information on the suspect is available. The group of individuals involved in the dispute also fled the area before police arrived, and detectives are currently attempting to locate those individuals. The motive for the shooting is under investigation.

The victim has been identified as Ryan Pearson, a 46-year-old resident of Long Beach.
