On April 4, 2022, detectives from the Special Investigations Division located and arrested Kelly Bayloe, a 49-year-old resident of the City of Hawthorne for the April 1, 2022 murder of Ryan Pearson. Homicide Detectives conducted an extensive investigation and identified Bayloe as the suspect responsible for the murder. Detectives subsequently located and arrested Bayloe near the 3800 block of West Imperial Highway in the City of Inglewood.
Bayloe has been booked on one count of murder and is currently being held on $2,000,000 bail. The motive for the incident remains under investigation. The case will be presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office later this week.

On April 1, 2022, at approximately 9:13 p.m., officers responded to the 6100 block of Long Beach Boulevard regarding a shooting that had just occurred, which resulted in the death of a male adult.
Upon arrival, officers located a male adult victim suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper body. Officers began rendering life-saving measures until Long Beach Fire Department personnel arrived and transported the victim to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Homicide Detectives responded to the scene to investigate the incident. The preliminary investigation revealed that a male suspect approached a group of subjects and got into a verbal dispute with the group, which escalated into a shooting. The suspect then fled the area, and at this time, no additional information on the suspect is available. The group of individuals involved in the dispute also fled the area before police arrived, and detectives are currently attempting to locate those individuals. The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
The victim has been identified as Ryan Pearson, a 46-year-old resident of Long Beach.
