Organized by non-profit Long Beach Food & Beverage, the 2nd annual Long Beach Burger Week will kick off with a unique event for some very special guests. Four top Long Beach chefs/restaurateurs will treat over 200 homeless men, women and children to a multi-course burger lunch at Long Beach Rescue Mission on August 2nd, announced Burger Week organizer Terri Henry. The lunch will feature donated burgers courtesy of sponsor Huntington Meats and display the culinary talents of some of the city’s leading chefs and favorite restaurants.
The August 2nd lunch will be held at:
- Long Beach Rescue Mission (Samaritan House – 1340 Pacific Avenue, Long Beach)
- 11am – 1pm
- The lunch will be prepared and served by representatives from:
- Hungry Angelina
- Crack Burgers
- Northtown Bistro pop-up
- A Pinch of Salt Catering/pop-up
- Long Beach Food & Beverage
“We realize that there are many of our neighbors that won’t get the chance to dine out during Burger Week,” said Henry, who said that over two dozen participating restaurants are involved in the 2nd annual Long Beach Burger Week to be held August 7-14, 2022. “Serving a gourmet burger meal to our neighbors struggling with homelessness is our way of bringing Burger Week to them and including everyone in the event.”
Despite its size, Long Beach is a tightly knit community where diversity and civic pride is our strength,” said David Trepanier, proprietor of Crack Burgers . “My fellow restaurateurs and I are delighted to kick off Long Beach Burger Week by treating those most vulnerable in our society to an unforgettable meal.”
“The participating chefs felt this was a great way to give back to the community doing what we do best,” added Chef Quianna Bradley, proprietor of Pinch of Salt catering/pop-up. “Cooking with love!”
