Long Beach City Area Chamber of Commerce Political Action Committee (PAC) announced their endorsement of Suzie Price For Mayor for Long Beach City Mayor.
The endorsement comes on the heels of Price raising $300,000 in four weeks and receiving endorsements from California State Controller Betty Yee, Former California State Attorney General Bill Lockyer, Long Beach Councilmembers Daryl Supernaw and Stacy Mungo, Assemblymember Patrick O’Donnell, and Senator Tom Umberg among others.
“After a long process conducting interviews of multiple mayoral candidates for Long Beach Mayor and a robust discussion that followed, the Chamber PAC is confident that Councilwoman Suzie Price is the right individual to lead the City as Mayor,” said Jeremy Harris, President and CEO of the Long Beach Area Chamber of Commerce. “Today, we officially begin our support of a pragmatic, pro-business candidate for Mayor.”
The Long Beach Area Chamber of Commerce (LBACC), one of the largest membership chambers of commerce in Los Angeles County, serves as a catalyst for business growth, a convener of leaders and influencers, and a champion for a stronger community. The chamber’s PAC is responsible for funding candidates and issues that seek to improve the economic vitality of the Long Beach business community. All funding is raised separately from the Long Beach Area Chamber of Commerce membership dues. The PAC uses its direct contributions from donors to help fund candidates and issue campaigns and recruit and train potential candidates for office.
“I am proud to have the support of the Long Beach Chamber of Commerce in this race,” says Price. “As a small business owner I uniquely understand the challenges that many of our businesses face, especially after the pandemic. I look forward to working with the Chamber to make Long Beach a place where existing and future business owners can thrive and invest in job creation.”
Mom, Councilwoman, Small Business Owner, and Deputy District Attorney, Suzie Price is running for Mayor to get Long Beach back to basics, with a competent and functional City Government focused on improving the quality of life for its residents. Elected in 2014 and re-elected in 2018, Price was the first Democrat elected to Council District 3 in 42 years. On the City Council, Suzie has worked across district lines to focus on homelessness, public safety, street repair, infrastructure investment, improving and expanding our green spaces, and ensuring Long Beach remains a place where you can afford to buy a home and start a business. Suzie and her husband Mark, a military veteran, have lived in Long Beach for 20 years where they are raising their two boys.
