More than 300 volunteer Lions worked throughout last weekend at the 80th annual Seal Beach Lions Community Fish Fry. The two-day event, a local tradition, featured live music, fish, hot dogs, bratwurst, beer, and wine. (The Rumrunners are seen performing in the photo below right.)

“Around 4,100 meals were served over the two days,” wrote Lion John Schroeder.

Net proceeds from the Fish Fry sponsor the charitable projects of the Seal Beach Lions Club in Seal Beach and beyond. Information about the proceeds was not available.

Drawing winners

All the winners of the opportunity drawing were from Seal Beach. The Ford Bronco went to Denise Laviola, $2,500 went to Rebecca Gomez and $1000 to Dennis Chang.

In other news, Laviola’s daughter delivered a baby at about 11:40 a.m., Sunday, July 14, according to Lion Ray Longoria.
