November 17, 2022
Disturbance (Family) – 12:03 p.m. – 7900 block of Westra Ln. – The caller would not open the front door for the caller’s stepdaughter, and the stepdaughter then jumped the fence and was now pacing int he backyard. The subject was transported to a mental health clinic.
Suspicious Circumstances – 5:50 p.m. – 5500 block of La Palma Ave. – The reporting party stated that a pink rubber duck with a paper attached to the duck was on the driver’s door of the vehicle. Counseled.
November 18, 2022
Assist Other Department – 8:19 p.m. – 5100 block of Del Sol Cir. – A doorknock was requested for a possible outstanding stolen vehicle. Police spoke with the homeowner, who advised that they had recently moved to the residence. The previous resident, the registered owner of the vehicle, possibly moved to Colorado. San Bernardino Sheriff’s Office notified.
Disturbance (Subject) – 11:53 p.m. – 6500 block of Valley View St. – A disgruntled employee was reportedly in the parking lot creating a disturbance. The subject struck a security guard and left in a vehicle. Police were unable to locate the subject after conducting a patrol check of the area. Prosecution was desired. Report taken.
November 19, 2022
Suspicious Subject – 4:21 a.m. – 5000 block of Malaga Dr. – An unknown male subject was reportedly ringing the doorbell. A neighbor possibly witnessed a vehicle burglary or attempted vehicle theft. It did not appear that a crime had taken place at this time and that the crime was stopped from occurring.
Pedestrian Check – 4:16 p.m. – 5500 block of Orangethorpe Ave. – Police conducted a search during a pedestrian check and issued a citation for a violation of La Palma Municipal Code.
November 20, 2022
Drunk Driver – 7:17 p.m. – 5000 block of Orangethorpe Ave. – The caller reported a possible DUI driver in the drive thru now possibly headed eastbound on Orangethorpe. The vehicle had sat in the drive thru line for approximately five minutes and had an unsteady gait when the subject left the vehicle. Police located the vehicle and performed a traffic stop. During the traffic stop, police conducted field sobriety tests on the driver. A 47-year-old male subject was arrested for DUI. The vehicle was left legally parked. The subject was later released on citation.
November 21, 2022
Traffic Stop – 10:07 a.m. – Walker/Houston – During a traffic stop, the vehicle yielded on the wrong side of the roadway. The driver was issued a citation and a mandatory DMV evaluation.
Disturbance (Subject) – 12:35 p.m. – 7700 block of Valley View St. – The caller requested a welfare check for a female neighbor. The caller could hear bumping and a male subject yelling. The female was a possible past domestic violence victim. Police made contact with the female. The male subject had a laceration to his face. OCFA was requested to stage nearby. Police made entry into the residence and detained a male subject who had barricaded himself inside the bathroom. The male subject was transported to the hospital for severe inebriation and the laceration, which was self-induced prior to the arrival of police. An emergency protection order was granted. A 35-year-old male subject was arrested for obstruction and domestic battery.
Welfare Check – 7:47 p.m. – Centerpointe – A subject was reportedly loitering in the area. The reporting party approached her to inquire if she was a guest and the subject requested medics because she was “bit by monkeypox” and had COVID. OCFA responded and the subject was transported to the hospital.

Traffic Collision – 7:38 a.m. – Moody/Sharon – Police responded to a traffic collision involving a bicyclist and a vehicle. The bicyclist was bleeding from the mouth. OCFA responded for the bicyclist, who was conscious and alert. Report taken.
Assault/Battery – 3:18 p.m. – 5200 block of Bransford Dr. – The caller’s older son reportedly punched the younger son. Police made contact and both parties refused medical attention. A 35-year-old male subject was arrested for assault and battery. A restraining order was served and the subject was released on citation.
Bike Stop – 9:35 p.m. – Fresca/Valley View – During a bike stop, police conducted a search and subsequently arrested a 44-year-old subject for possession of a controlled substance. The subject was later released on citation.
