June 30, 2022

Illegal Peddling – 6:32 p.m. – La Palma/Walker – A subject was reportedly peddling on the median. The caller stated that the subject may need medical attention. Police contacted the subject and a citation was issued.
Citizen Assist – 7:00 p.m. – 8000 block of Cheshire Cir. – A neighbor was reportedly dumping weeds int he caller’s planter. Party advised and will comply.

July 1, 2022

Found Property – 9:11 a.m. – 4600 block of La Palma Ave. – A passport was reportedly found in the parking lot.

July 2, 2022

Public Works Information – 9:13 a.m. – Centerpointe Dr. – A water leak was reported to the rear of the building. The reporting party attempted to contact security and the property management but received no answer. Public Works was notified and responded. Public Works turned the water off at the location and would contact the property management responsible for the water lines.
Medical Aid – 10:16 a.m. – 8100 block of Moody St. – A soccer player approximately 12 years of age had reportedly suffered a broken bone. Orange County Fire Authority responded and the subject was transported to the hospital.
Counseling – 11:21 a.m. – 5100 block of Andrew Dr. – Counseling was requested regarding a neighbor dispute. The reporting party advised that neighbors had repeatedly thrown trash in her yard and the RP was currently concerned over a cracked bottle of lighter fluid. Counseled.

July 3, 2022

Area Check – 9:03 a.m. – 7800 block of Walker St. – An area check was requested regarding a vehicle possibly driving in the parking lot with trunk and door open. After reviewing security cameras, it was determined that the subject closed the door and trunk before leaving the parking lot. Checked okay.
Burglary Report – 10:08 a.m. – Centerpointe Dr. – The caller advised that a window was broken, possibly overnight. Report taken.
Disturbance (Subject) – 2:17 p.m. – 5400 block of Orangethorpe Ave. – A male subject was reportedly chasing vehicles and jumping in front of vehicles. Police contacted the subject and performed a search. The subject was subsequently arrested for an outstanding felony warrant.

July 4, 2022

Grand Theft – 3:21 p.m. – 4800 block of Elben Dr. – The caller advised that at least two subjects possibly stole a catalytic converter and left in a vehicle with tinted windows. Police determined that the catalytic converter was cut in half but still attached to the vehicle. Police were unable to locate the subjects. Cypress Police were notified of the attempted theft. Report taken.
Disturbance (Fireworks) – 9:06 p.m. – 7000 block of Moody St. – Fireworks were reportedly being used in the riverbed. Police contacted a group in the riverbed behind McDonald’s. Party advised and will comply.

July 5, 2022

Identity Theft Report – 10:28 a.m. – 7500 block of Barbi Ln. – There were reportedly unauthorized transactions on the reporting party’s account. The bank either refunded or blocked the transactions. No loss at this time. Report taken.
Suspicious Circumstances – 6:00 p.m. – 7821 Walker St. (La Palma Recreation Center) – The caller reported sounds of people walking on the roof of the building. A large amount of juveniles were at the location, possibly waiting for something to happen. It was determined that there was a YouTuber at the location filming basketball.
Vandalism – 7:24 p.m. – 7821 Walker St. (La Palma Recreation Center) – A juvenile was reportedly on top of a cement block taking a letter off of the “City of La Palma” sign. Police conducted a foot patrol and determined that the letter “f” was missing from the City sign.
Incident Report – 9:14 p.m. – 4900 block of La Palma Ave. – A subject with a gun reportedly threatened the reporting party. The gun was in a sweater and then placed to the chest. The gun was not seen, only the outline of the gun from the pocket. The police had taken a report for similar circumstances before. Incident report taken.

July 6, 2022

Disturbance (Subject) – 5:05 a.m. – 7900 block of Walker St. – A subject was reportedly refusing to leave and was uncooperative with staff. Party advised and will comply.
Vehicle Burglary Report – 3:07 p.m. – 4900 block of La Palma Ave. – A vehicle was reportedly burglarized via a window smash. The loss was $24,000 in cash and a bank safety deposit box key. No prosecution desired.
