July 28, 2022
Disturbance (Subject) – 8:23 a.m. – 7900 block of Walker St. – A discharged patient was reportedly refusing to leave and swinging arms at staff in an attempt to fight them. It was determined that the subject was physically unable to leave and would be checked back into the hospital.
Suspicious Circumstances – 8:21 p.m. – Amberwood/Wickham – A subject reportedly went into a manhole. Police determined that there was no crime. The subject was an 18-year-old TikToker. Party advised and will comply. The manhole cover checked okay.
July 29, 2022
Vehicle Tampering Report – 6:48 a.m. – 5500 block of Oak Dr. – A catalytic converter was reportedly taken from a 2008 Toyota Prius between 10 p.m. and 6:30 a.m. There was possibly surveillance at a neighbor’s residence. Report taken.
Assist Other Department – 10:24 a.m. – 91/Valley View (Buena Park) – A cement truck with a second trailer reportedly tipped on northbound Valley View at the 91 Freeway. The California Highway Patrol was advised regarding possible violations and would be shutting down the 91 westbound offramp. The driver had a commercial tow truck en route from Norco. Buena Park Police relieved La Palma Police and took over the scene.
Police Information – 7:47 p.m. – 7792 Walker St. (La Palma Police Department) – The police department was experiencing technical difficulties with its servers down and air conditioning out. Large fans were set up to cool down the server room. An air conditioning technician was requested to work on the unit. The air conditioning and all phones were restored by 11 p.m.
July 30, 2022
Medical Aid – 8:20 a.m. – 7800 block of Barbi Ln. – A male subject was possibly passed out. The subject was transported to the hospital by ambulance.
Counseling – 10:28 a.m. – 7700 block of Valley View St. – The reporting party requested counseling regarding a civil issue over joint ownership of a vehicle. The reporting party was referred to Fullerton Police Department for requesting officers to keep the peace while obtaining his items back from his girlfriend, who resides in Fullerton, after breaking up. La Palma Police were unable to provide further assistance.
July 31, 2022
Police Information – 8:00 p.m. – 5600 block of Orangethorpe Ave. – Juveniles were reportedly yelling at the reporting party. The caller was near the pool and requested that they stay on the line until he was in the apartment. The caller reached the residence and felt safe. No further assistance requested.
Extra Patrol Checks – 8:26 p.m. – Centerpointe Dr. – The owner of the business requested extra patrol checks for the next few days regarding a subject attempting to enter the business through the rear kitchen door.
August 1, 2022
Shots at a Building/Vehicle – 9:30 p.m. – 5400 block of Orangethorpe Ave. – The caller believed that an unknown subject shot at her vehicle, shattering the rear window. Based on the damage to the vehicle, it thought not to be caused by a firearm. Incident report taken.
Shots at a Building/Vehicle – 10:52 p.m. – 6500 block of Valley View St. – Gunshots were reportedly heard in the warehouse. Two male subjects had reportedly been seen fighting, and were last seen in the warehouse. Police spoke with an employee, who stated that he did not hear any gunshots in the warehouse. A K-9 was requested to search for a firearm. Two flatbed tow trucks were later requested for an evidence hold on vehicles. Buena Park Police provided assistance during the incident. Report taken.
August 2, 2022
Counseling – 6:12 p.m. – 5600 block of Orangethorpe Ave. – The caller reported two to three subjects, possibly gang members, outside of the caller’s residence, intimidating the caller. The reporting party felt threatened by the subjects due to them standing outside of his apartment and speaking Spanish. The RP provided no information of a crime and was counseled.
Unknown Trouble – 9:53 p.m. – 5600 block of Orangethorpe Ave. – The caller advised that two subjects, possibly gang members, near the caller’s vehicle. The caller stated that one subject may have stated that he had a gun. The caller was armed. Police responded and two males were positively identified. Two 15-year-old male subjects were arrested for stalking. One subject was released to a youth shelter. The other was transported to the hospital for recent drug use.
August 3, 2022
Vandalism Report – 1:38 p.m. – 7400 block of Brian Ln. – Damage was reportedly found on the rear driver’s side bumper. The reporting party was unable to confirm where the vehicle was at the time of the damage. Counseled. A report was declined. The reporting party would contact their insurance company.
Transient – 11:58 p.m. – Centerpointe Dr. – A male subject covered in a blanket was reportedly to the rear of the business. Party advised and will comply.
August 4, 2022
Incident Report – 7:26 p.m. – 8400 block of Meadowlark Ln. – A subject reportedly stole construction materials from the residence between 8:10 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. The caller believed that it was a contractor but did not have proof. Incident report taken.
Patrol Check – 9:18 p.m. – Valley View/Orangethorpe – Smoke was seen in the area. It was determined that it was coming from a storage facility. Incident handled by the fire department.
August 5, 2022
Vandalism Report – 6:07 p.m. – 7400 block of Dallas Dr. – The caller’s home and pool were toilet papered, possibly by a daughter’s friend from school. There was no damage.
Extra Patrol Checks – 9:42 p.m. – 4500 block of Trafalgar Dr. – The reporting party requested extra patrol trucks regarding a white truck she saw in the area that she believed to be suspicious. She also could not see her daughter’s vehicle parked in the driveway. It was determined that the vehicle was used to take the family to the airport that day.
August 6, 2022
Vehicle Burglary Report – 7:30 a.m. – 4600 block of Amberwood Ave. – Tools were reportedly taken from the truck and the tires were popped. Subjects were seen on surveillance. Report taken.
Counseling – 8:48 p.m. – 5000 block of Pine Cir.- The caller requested counseling regarding an animal making strange sounds behind the caller’s residence. The police located a dog with a malfunctioning training caller that was causing the dog to whimper.
August 7, 2022
Disturbance (Family) – 9:23 a.m. – 8600 block of Devon Cir. – A 15-year-old subject was reportedly arguing, throwing items on the floor, and breaking items. The juvenile was counseled.
Area Check – 5:44 p.m. – 8152 Denni St. (Denni Park) – Subjects were possibly smoking drugs. The reporting party did not have observation on them, but could smell marijuana. Police made contact with two subjects sitting on a park bench. Party advised and will comply.
Unknown Trouble – 9:17 p.m. – Walker/La Palma – The caller stated that she needed police assistance and then hung up. Police contacted the caller, and she stated that she was kicked out of the bar. She reportedly sounded intoxicated. The bartender stated that the female caller was heavily intoxicated and was no longer welcome at the business. The female was advised regarding trespassing and the bartender was advised to contact the police if the female returned.
