January 6, 2023

Counseling – 1:02 p.m. – 5600 block of Orangethorpe Ave. – The reporting party requested advice on what to do with her ex-boyfriends things after a domestic violence incident. The boyfriend was not returning her texts and calls.
Threats Report – 1:08 p.m. – 8100 block of Walker St. – The caller’s 13-year-old son began receiving threats from a 16-year-old, saying that he was going to be jumped. The reporting party had screenshots of the conversations. Counseled.

January 7, 2023

Grand Theft Report – 10:48 a.m. – 5900 block of Priest Dr. – A catalytic converter was stolen from a vehicle parked in the driveway overnight. No report taken at this time.
Found Property – 3:27 p.m. – 7100 block of La Paz Ln. – Three cards belonging to the same subject were found on the sidewalk. Police returned the property to the owner at the police station.

January 8, 2023

Counseling – 1:32 p.m. – 8100 block of Walker St. – A student was possibly going to get jumped by other students, who were brother and sister. Report taken.
Fraud/Forgery Report – 11:15 p.m. – 7700 block of Valley View St. – A subject that the reporting party met deposited checks into his account, which he transferred via Zelle. The possible loss was $1,700.

January 9, 2023

Suspicious Circumstances – 9:59 a.m. – 5400 block of Orangethorpe Ave. – The caller advised that two subjects were hiding behind a white box truck while officers were in the area.
Petty Theft – 11:11 a.m. – 5400 block of La Palma Ave. – A subject reportedly took $100 in miscellaneous items. Prosecution was desired. Police were unable to locate the subject following an area check. Report taken.

January 10, 2023

Bike Stop – 7:22 a.m. – Carmenita/Droxford (Cerritos) – Following a bike stop, police arrested a 44-year-old subject for bench warrants for failure to appear, possession of controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Keep the Peace – 6:06 p.m. – 5100 block of Dover Dr. – A Homeowners Association board member requested that police keep the peace while he served a restraining order. The subject was very upset and per the current restraining order, he needed to stay a certain distance away or be in violation. He was advised and stated that he was not going back to jail.

January 11, 2023

Transient – 8:41 a.m. – 4900 block of La Palma Ave. – A possibly transient was reportedly shouting at herself in front of the business. The subject was wearing no bottoms. Police detained the subject in handcuffs. The subject was subsequently arrested for public nuisance. She was later released to the Crisis Assessment Team (CAT) for a mental health hold.
Extra Patrol Checks – 3:34 p.m. – Undisclosed location – The caller requested extra patrol checks during the night shifts regarding two suspicious vehicles and a suspicious subject.
