February 24, 2022

Assist Other Department – 4:12 p.m. – Moody/Orangethorpe – La Palma Police were requested to check the area by the California Highway Patrol regarding a highway violence incident in which the suspect tried to fight the reporting party before exiting on Carmenita from the 91 westbound. Police were unable to locate the subject.
Counseling – 7:05 p.m. – 7400 block of Brian Ln. – The caller requested counseling regarding threatening text messages from an unknown subject he met online. Counseled.

February 25, 2022

Suspicious Vehicle – 3:02 p.m. – 5400 block of La Palma Ave. – An unknown subject had reportedly been seen talking to juveniles in front of the business and asking about “the cops” and stating that he is “a good guy.” Police contacted the subject, who did not require assistance.

February 26, 2022

Petty Theft Report – 1:55 p.m. – 5000 block of Via Helena – The caller advised that a subject possibly tried to take a security camera. The caller confirmed shortly thereafter that a camera and sensors were missing. Report taken.
Stray Animal – 6:12 p.m. – 8000 block of Madia Cir. – The caller reported a stray dog, possibly a Labrador or golden retriever, with a red collar. Police caught the dog, which was a friendly golden retriever, and returned to the station. The dog was reunited with its owner.

February 27, 2022

Patrol Check – 6:31 p.m. – La Palma/Moody – A male subject with a megaphone was reportedly preaching at passersby and vehicles. Police were unable to locate the subject.
Disturbance (Music) – 7:03 p.m. – 4300 block of Robin Dr. – The caller reported a dog barking and loud drums playing. All parties were contacted. Parties advised and will comply.

February 28, 2022

Spousal Abuse Report – 10:00 a.m. – 5400 block of Dirk Cir. – The reporting party advised that her husband pushed her and she recently had hip surgery. No medical assistance needed at this time. Report taken.
Municipal Code Violation – 7:04 p.m. – 5400 block of La Palma Ave. – The reporting party stated that a refrigerated truck to the rear of the business was in violation of the new City noise Municipal Code. The vehicle was gone on the arrival of police. The signage in the alley still had the violation hours of 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.

March 1, 2022

Vandalism Report – 8:36 a.m. – 7900 block of Valley View St. – The caller reported a possible burglary with glass broken at the front door that occurred between the previous night at 9 p.m. and this morning at 8:30 a.m. The victim had not been inside the business. Police made entry and cleared the business. The owner of the business later determined that the loss was a credit card terminal. No DNA was collected because multiple customers had been in the business since the initial report and the reporting party kept gliding hands over the cut lines. Surveillance footage was available. The business was now aware of a dead zone of alarm coverage. The loss was $450 for the credit card terminal and $1000 for glass repair to the front door.
Threats Report – 7:53 p.m. – 5400 block of Dirk Cir. – The caller reported a Facebook post targeted at the caller. The post stated “Help me track this fat [expletive] down so I can kill him.” Report taken.

March 2, 2022

Counseling – 6:39 p.m. – 5000 block of Cartagena Cir. – The caller requested counseling regarding a neighbor smoking marijuana. Counseled.
Disturbance (Subject) – 8:21 p.m. – 4500 block of Maroon Dr. – The caller’s grandson was “rummaging” through the neighbor’s planter. The caller did not want him at the residence and was afraid of him. The caller did not want to make contact with him. Party advised and will comply and left the area. The caller was advised to call again if the subject returned.
