December 22, 2022

Assist Other Department – 10:17 a.m. – 8200 block of Walker St. – Police went to the location regarding a possible fire in a wall in a restroom. It was determined that an unknown subject threw a lit object inside of an opening in the wall, possibly intentionally. The fire was completely extinguished and fire investigators responded. Report taken.
Disturbance (Juveniles) – 2:07 p.m. – 8100 block of Walker St. – Police contacted approximately 10 juveniles. One male juvenile was wearing a black ski mask over his head. The subject was detained and stated that he was going to climb on the roof of the building to take pictures or video. The subject’s parents were notified and responded to pick up the juvenile.

December 23, 2022

Extra Patrol Check – 12:54 p.m. – Moody/Malaga – Extra patrol checks were requested regarding an unknown subject who approached the residence in the early morning hours.
Counseling – 5:46 p.m. – 5500 block of Fresca Dr. – The reporting party was concerned with students not following safety protocols while cutting metal.

December 24, 2022

Disabled Vehicle – 9:57 p.m. – Walker/La Palma – A vehicle occupied by one subject was reportedly out of gas. The owner of the vehicle was extremely uncooperative and refused to move the vehicle. An empty beer bottle was located in the rear passenger area. Photos were taken. A tow truck responded to the location.
Assist Other Department – 11:31 p.m. – 6800 block of Valley View St. (Buena Park) – Two male subjects with flashlights were reportedly attempting to enter the business. Buena Park Police had two units en route and requested that La Palma Police assist with establishing a perimeter. At least one suspect was taken into custody before the perimeter was broken down.

December 25, 2022

911 Hangup – 12:48 a.m. – 5800 block of La Palma Ave. – The caller rambled about people lying and babies and then disconnected. Police attempted to call back twice but there was no answer and they were unable to leave a message.
Welfare Check – 8:13 p.m. – Moody/South (Cerritos) – A subject was reportedly stumbling in and out of traffic while walking in the bike lane northbound on Moody towards Orangethorpe. Police were unable to locate the subject.

December 26, 2022

Found Property – 3:55 p.m. – 7822 Walker St. (La Palma City Hall) – A backpack was found on the steps near City Hall. The bag was soiled and contained perishable items.
Disturbance (Subject) – 7:59 p.m. – 8152 Denni St. (Denni Park) – A subject was reportedly playing loud music and standing on his vehicle. Police were unable to locate the subject.

December 27, 2022

Lost/Stolen Property – 8:31 a.m. – Centerpointe Dr. – The reporting party lives in Texas and reportedly lost her wallet at the business on December 25. The reporting party had since flown back to Texas and needed a report taken by phone.
Suspicious Circumstances – 11:24 a.m. – 5400 block of La Palma Ave. – The reporting party stated that he was receiving text messages from a subject who was stating that the subject wanted to have sexual relations with an underage juvenile. Report taken.

December 28, 2022

Bike Stop – 1:15 a.m. – Walker/Orangethorpe – Following a bike stop, police arrested a 55-year-old male subject for giving a false ID to police, bench warrants for failure to appear on felony charges, and a reflector violation.
Disturbance (Subject) – 8:59 p.m. – Sharon/Barbi – A male subject, possibly a transient, was reportedly yelling at subjects passing by.
Disturbance (Music) – 11:27 p.m. – 5100 block of Dover Dr. – A neighbor was reportedly driving behind the garages with loud music. Police were unable to locate the subject.
