Thank you for considering me as a candidate for the Cypress school board. My daughter will be entering elementary school soon and I want to make sure she and other Cypress kids have the best education possible. It is my belief that a good education starts with good teachers. I want the Cypress school system to be able to hire and keep the best teachers, and I will do whatever I can to make sure Cypress stays an attractive destination for families.

I believe my background and experience make me an excellent candidate for school board. After receiving my PhD in Social Psychology from the University of California Irvine, I worked for Riverside County Department of Public Social Services before working with the Orange County Health Care Agency for 5 years. During my time working for government agencies, I’ve spent a lot of time around boards and committees as a subject matter expert and presenter, and working with diverse members of the public. I’m currently a Public Health Statistician at the Center for Health Equity Research at California State University, Long Beach. My other work experience includes being a therapist for kids with autism, serving as a caseworker for children who were sexually abused, and working at an after-school program at a community center. If elected, I promise to work hard to provide the best education for Cypress students.
