What was the best advice you received when you were first starting out?
I was told early on that meaningful contributions matter more than the title you hold. That advice grounded me. It reminded me that impact, whether in research or in leadership, comes from the work you do, not the position you’re in.
Are there particular strategies that have helped you accomplish your goals?
Building strong, collaborative teams and fostering a culture of curiosity have been central to my work. Aligning scientific innovation with patient-centered outcomes and setting clear milestones has helped me make steady progress toward long-standing goals.
Any advice for people interested in a career in your field?
Precision medicine is about using complex biological and clinical information to uncover insights that guide patient care. This includes identifying which treatments may work best, what risks the patient faces, or how a condition might progress. Curiosity, a strong analytical mindset, and a commitment to continual learning are essential in a field that evolves rapidly at the intersection of medicine and technology.
