To help protect the most vulnerable, Kaiser Permanente has awarded nearly $3 million in grants to nonprofit organizations in Orange County. These grants align with the health care provider’s mission of total health by funding programs that work to ensure access to health care and to create healthier communities.
In 2022 Kaiser Permanente community health expanded grant support for affordable housing advocacy, homeless prevention, food security, advancing racial equity, financial health, access to high quality health care and supporting organizations, providing much needed mental health services throughout Orange County.
“Improving health in the communities we serve is vital to Kaiser Permanente’s mission of being a true community-based health care services provider,” said Payman Roshan, senior vice president and area manager for Kaiser Permanente Orange County. “We’re pleased to award these grants as they reflect our firm belief that optimal community health can best be achieved through partnership and collaboration with others.”
Among the initiatives funded is a $1 million national grant awarded to Mind OC to support the establishment of a second mental health and wellness campus in Irvine. The services will span a full continuum of care needs that include mental health and wellness support for children, adolescents, adults and families, replicating the clinical and financial model used to successfully launch the first campus in the city of Orange.
