The Cypress Chamber of Commerce will welcome International Trade Expert Jim Mayfield as our first guest speaker for the year at the January Networking Breakfast. Our event will be held Tuesday, January 10th at the Residence Inn by Marriott at 4931 Katella Avenue, Cypress/Los Alamitos starting at 7:30 a.m. and will follow all current protocols for attendee safety. Jim is a Director at the U.S. Export Assistance Center – Orange County, part of the U.S. Department of Commerce. Jim leads a team of specialists who advise and assist Orange County-area companies with all aspects of their global export strategies.
Jim Mayfield will discuss the importance of keeping jobs at home here in the United States by expanding U.S. exports as well as the changes in the export landscape and some of the challenges exporters face. He will also touch on the importance of “Certificates of Origin,” a service that the Cypress Chamber of Commerce provides to Cypress businesses.
Our speaker holds a bachelor’s degree in International Affairs from The George Washington University and an MBA from the University of Hawaii. He joined the U.S. Export Assistance Center in Irvine, California in 2012, and became the Director in 2014. His current client portfolios include aerospace, safety & security, professional services, energy, and environmental technologies.
Prior to joining the Irvine office, Jim served as the Principal Commercial Officer with the U.S. Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam as well as other high profile international posts.
Each Chamber breakfast attendee will also have an opportunity to stand to introduce themselves and share a little about their business before the program begins.
Reservations are highly recommended to secure your spot for the monthly breakfasts and can be made online. Cost of the breakfast is $25.00. Early Bird Registration is $20.00. Attendees are also welcome to bring door prizes to promote their product or service. The program will include time for live networking, self-introductions, breakfast, our guest speaker and a question and answer session if time permits.
