Fans of the talented guitarist and vocalist Jerry Cantrell received a delightful announcement about additional dates for Cantrell’s late summer U.S. tour, dubbed I Want Blood.
The tour – inspired by his critically-acclaimed 2024 solo album of the same name – has new dates with Filter along for the ride. California fans who cannot get their fill of blood and Cantrell will have a chance to see him in San Diego at The Observatory on August 16th and in Anaheim at The House of Blues on August 17th!
Jerry Cantrell gained prominence as a guitarist and vocalist when Alice in Chains appeared in 1987. The band became icons of the grunge genre thanks to “Man in the Box,” “Rooster,” “I Stay Away,” “Down in a Hole,” and “Would?”
Alice in Chains earned their fan base with their dark, heavy sound, intricate guitar work, and haunting vocal harmonies, which would not have existed without Cantrell’s contribution.

Throughout the years, Cantrell’s influence in the music industry has been evident due to his songwriting skills and distinctive guitar playing and vocals.
He has released several solo albums which conveyed his musical prowess outside of Alice in Chains’ style, and he has continued to impress the masses with “I Want Blood.” The introspective album proves that the critical acclaim received was not misplaced as it has been described as his best work with raw melodies, ingenious guitar technique, and nuanced songs.
Those in attendance at these amazing shows should expect to hear these unique tracks from the new album, and, of course, some of his staple tracks from the rest of his discography.
Coming along the “bloody” journey, once again will be the dynamic Filter which remains fronted by former Nine Inch Nails guitarist Richard Patrick, guitarist Jonathan Radtke, drummer Jeff Fabb, and bassist Bobby Miller.
This rock band is the perfect addition to the I Want Blood tour with their industrial rock and grunge roots and their energetic performances. With tracks such as “Take a Picture,” “The Best Things,” and “Hey Man, Nice Shot,” concertgoers will be in good hands!
