The Irvine Animal Care Center invites all runners, walkers, and animal-lovers to support animals in need during its 2022 Virtual 5K throughout the month of April. The center’s Virtual 5K can be completed at any location you choose April 1–30, can be done at your own pace, and is timed yourself.
The Virtual 5K is an ideal way to support animals in need. Log your 5K in walks around the neighborhood with your household members, or while running on the treadmill in your living room. You can help the center’s animals while staying healthy and active yourself.
In addition to supporting animals, you can also help celebrate the Irvine Animal Care Center’s 40th Anniversary while running or walking your 5K. During April, special race-related features will be announced through social media and at irvineanimals.org/40.
Just submit your entry fee of $35 at irvineanimals.org/5k, complete your race by April 30, and receive an exclusive race medal and certificate. Enter your four-legged friend to run with you in the Virtual 5K for an additional $8, and they will receive their very own medal for completing the race. Proceeds go toward special programs at the Irvine Animal Care Center, which provides sheltering, care, and enrichment for homeless, neglected, abused, or unwanted animals. Services include licensing for Irvine residents, pet adoptions, and events.
Registration opens March 24; visit irvineanimals.org/5k for more information and to submit your entry fee. For questions, call the Irvine Animal Care Center at 949-724-7740.
