Investigators Attest Suspect in Fatal Hit & Run Traffic Collision

ANAHEIM, Calif. (Sept 23, 2024) – Anaheim Police investigators have arrested Edgar Arce, a 24-year-old Anaheim man, for a fatal hit-and-run traffic collision.

On September 15, 2024, at approximately 4:40 a.m., Anaheim Police officers and Anaheim Fire & Rescue personnel responded to the area of Katella Ave, west of Euclid St, regarding a “hit and run” traffic collision. Upon arrival, they discovered a woman who had suffered a severe traumatic injury. The woman was transported to the hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased.

Witnesses stated that a dark-colored SUV traveled westbound on Katella Ave and struck a female pedestrian in the traffic lanes. After the collision, the SUV driver left the scene. The female pedestrian was identified by the Orange County Sheriff-Coroner as Ms. Sabrina Ruiz Adame, a 47-year-old woman who was listed as transient.

On September 18, 2024, traffic investigators identified Edgar Arce, a 24-year-old Anaheim resident, as the driver of the SUV during the collision. Investigators charged Mr. Arce with felony hit-and-run and booked him at the Anaheim Police Department the same day. The vehicle used during the incident has been recovered and is being processed for evidence.
