COMING SOON! Northbound (NB) and Southbound (SB) I-405 Closures at the I-405/SR-73 Connector for a Concrete Pour
Crews will close the northbound (NB) and southbound (SB) I-405 at the I-405/SR-73 Connector for approximately 15 hours to pour concrete. The closure is anticipated in early June.

REMINDER! Fairview Road Bridge and Ramp Closures
Crews are working to open the new portion of the Fairview Road bridge over I-405, and this work required several closures:
- Southbound (SB) Fairview was reduced to one lane between South Coast Drive and McCormack Lane. SB lanes opened the morning of Wednesday, May 11.
- The northbound (NB) and SB Fairview freeway on- and off-ramps closed Tuesday, May 10. All ramps are anticipated to open 5 a.m. Thursday, May 12.
- Nightly Fairview full bridge closures will continue 11 p.m. April 11, to 5 a.m. April 12.

UPDATE! Northbound (NB) Euclid Street Closures to Continue
Crews will construct a utility manhole on Euclid Street. This work requires a NB Euclid Street closure between the southbound freeway ramps and I-405 bridge.
The closure is scheduled for 10 p.m. Friday, May 13, to 5 a.m. Saturday, May 14.

REMINDER! Northbound (NB) I-405 Closures Continue to Construct the False Deck and Overhang for Ward Street Bridge
Crews will continue constructing the false deck and overhang for the Ward Street bridge over I-405. This work requires a NB I-405 closure between the NB I-405 off-ramp to Euclid Street and the NB I-405 loop on-ramp from Brookhurst Street.
The NB I-405 closure is scheduled for 11 p.m. Thursday, May 12, to 5 a.m. May 13.

REMINDER! Goldenwest Street Bridge Closures to Install Waterline
Crews will continue installing a waterline in the Goldenwest Street bridge over I-405. This work requires nightly Goldenwest bridge closures between Sowell Avenue and Westminster Mall Road.
The nightly closures are ongoing 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. TONIGHT, May 11, through Friday, May 20, on weeknights.

COMING SOON! Extended Ramp Closures
Crews will close multiple ramps for approximately one month in late May to accommodate the freeway widening.

NEW! Northbound (NB) and Southbound (SB) I-405 Full Freeway Closure for Striping and K-rail
Crews will close NB and SB I-405 between Goldenwest Street and Bolsa Avenue to stripe lanes and shift K-Rail.
The full freeway closure is scheduled for 11 p.m. Saturday, May 14, to 6 a.m. Sunday, May 15.
The 405 Community Outreach Team will provide detailed closure and detour information in future alerts.
UPDATE! Northbound (NB) and Southbound (SB) I-405 Lane Reductions for Newland Street Column Foundation Activities
Crews will continue pouring concrete for cast-in-drilled-hole (CIDH) pile installation to support the foundation of the center median columns at the Newland Street bridge. This work will require lanes reductions on NB and SB I-405.
The nighttime lane reductions are anticipated for Saturday, May 14, and again on Saturday, June 4.
The 405 Community Outreach Team will provide detailed schedule information in future alerts.
REMINDER! Southbound (SB) I-405 Closures to Remove Falsework from the Westminster Boulevard Bridge
Crews will continue removing the falsework from the Westminster Boulevard bridge over I-405.
This work requires SB I-405 closures between the SB I-405 off-ramp to Springdale Street and the SB I-405 on-ramp from Westminster.
Closures are anticipated as early as 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Thursday, and 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Friday.
Nightly SB I-405 closures are anticipated to continue through Friday, May, 13.

Crews will continue installing falsework for the Bolsa Avenue bridge over I-405.
This work requires NB I-405 closures between the NB I-405 off-ramp to Beach Boulevard and the NB I-405 loop on-ramp from Goldenwest Street.
Closures are anticipated as early as 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Thursday, and 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Friday.
Nightly NB I-405 closures are anticipated to continue through Friday, May, 13 and again on Tuesday, May 17.
UPDATE! Southbound (SB) I-405 Closures to Install Falsework for the Bolsa Avenue Bridge
Crews will continue installing falsework for the Bolsa Avenue bridge over I-405.
This work requires SB I-405 closures between the SB I-405 off-ramp to Springdale Street and the SB I-405 on-ramp from Bolsa.
Closures are anticipated as early as 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Thursday, and 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Friday.
Nightly SB I-405 closures are anticipated Monday, May 16, to Friday, May 20.
REMINDER! Southbound (SB) I-405 Goldenwest Street On-Ramp and Bolsa Avenue Off-Ramp Closed
Crews closed the SB I-405 loop off-ramp to Bolsa Avenue and the SB I-405 loop on-ramp from Goldenwest Street to accommodate the freeway widening.
The SB I-405 loop off-ramp to Bolsa closed on Saturday, March 12, and is anticipated to reopen at the end of May.

Crews will install falsework for the I-405/ SR-73 Connector over I-405.
This work requires NB I-405 closures between the NB I-405 off-ramp to South Coast Drive and the NB I-405 on-ramp from Hyland Avenue and a SB I-405 closure between the SB I-405 off-ramp to Harbor Boulevard and the SB I-405 on-ramp from Bristol Street.
Closures are anticipated as early as 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Thursday, and 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Friday.
- Nightly NB I-405 closures are ongoing through Friday, May 20.
- The NB I-405/SR-73 connector will also be closed 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.
- The SB I-405 closures are anticipated for Thursday, May 12, and 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. Friday, May 13.
REMINDER! Northbound (NB) I-405 Loop On-Ramp from Seal Beach Boulevard Closed for Approximately One Month
Crews closed the NB I-405 loop on-ramp from Seal Beach Boulevard to accommodate the freeway widening.
The ramp closed Monday, April 25, and is anticipated to reopen after approximately one month.

Construction Activities
Montecito Channel
REMINDER! Crews have demolished a portion of the sound wall along the westbound (WB) SR-22/7th Street connector, adjacent to the Montecito Channel, behind homes on College Park Drive and are preparing the foundation for the new wall which is anticipated to be constructed summer 2022.
Temporary fencing and sound blankets were installed.
Crews may access the work zone, intermittently along College Park Drive and from the WB SR-22 connector, to mobilize equipment as early as 6 a.m., and some activities may occur at night from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

North Gate Road
UPDATE! Crews completed a portion of the pile installation activities for the southeast end of the wall along North Gate Road. Pile installation for the northwest end of the wall is anticipated to continue in June 2022.

Almond Avenue
REMINDER! Crews are constructing the sound walls along northbound I-405, adjacent to Almond Avenue. The block portion of the wall is anticipated to start construction in summer 2022.
Crews may mobilize equipment as early as 6 a.m., and some activities may occur from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. as needed.

Springdale Street
REMINDER! Crews will continue installing piles for the foundation of the outside abutments for the Springdale Street bridge over I-405. The foundation consists of 226 piles.
Pile installation activities are ongoing, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays and Saturdays, as needed for approximately four more weeks.
This work will also include intermittent nighttime lane reductions on Springdale and Westminster.
Crews may mobilize equipment as early as 6 a.m., and some activities may occur from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. as needed.

Springdale Street
UPDATE! Crews are constructing the new traffic signal at the Westminster Boulevard/Springdale Street intersection as part of the bridges’ reconstruction.
Activities include permanent pole foundation work, as well as electrical work. After the temporary signal is complete, crews will begin construction of the permanent traffic signal.
Construction of the permanent signal is ongoing, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays and Saturdays, as needed.
This work will also include intermittent nighttime lane reductions on Springdale and Westminster.
Crews may mobilize equipment as early as 6 a.m., and some activities may occur from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. as needed.

Bolsa Avenue
UPDATE! Crews will remove shoring beams and plates from the area along the sound wall adjacent to southbound (SB) I-405, between the Bolsa Avenue bridge and the railroad.
Shoring removal is anticipated to begin Monday, May 23, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. for approximately one week.
Crews may mobilize equipment as early as 6 a.m., and some activities may occur from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. as needed.
A crane is planned to be staged at the freeway level for this work.

Sugar Drive
REMINDER! Crews are conducting pavement work along Sugar Drive. To complete this work, Sugar is closed between Cascade/ Shasta Lane and Rushmoor Lane. Driveway access will be maintained.
Activities include asphalt removal, pavement, and curb and gutter construction.
Sugar Drive closed Monday, May 10, and is anticipated to open after approximately two weeks.
Activities will be scheduled 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays and Saturdays, as needed, for approximately two weeks.
Crews may mobilize equipment as early as 6 a.m., and some activities may occur at night from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Newland Street
REMINDER! Crews will continue installing piles for the foundation of the Newland Street bridge over I-405.
The foundation consists of three large diameter cast-in-drilled-hole (CIDH) piles. Crews will use an auger to drill large holes, install forms and steel cages and pour concrete into the holes to form the piles.
Pile installation activities are ongoing, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.,for approximately three more weeks, on weekdays and Saturdays as needed.
This work may also include intermittent nighttime lane reductions on northbound and southbound I-405, between Edinger Avenue and the Heil Avenue pedestrian bridge from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m..
Crews may mobilize equipment as early as 6 a.m., and some activities may occur from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. as needed.

Harbor Boulevard
UPDATE! The closures that were scheduled to work on columns at Harbor were postponed to a later date.

I-405/SR-73 Connector
UPDATE! Crews are working on the foundation of the I-405/SR-73 connector. The foundation consists of 8 cast-in-drilled hole (CIDH) and 35 steel pipe piles.
The CIDH activity includes installing large-diameter casings approximately 200 feet into the ground.
The steel pipe piles will be driven into the soil until reaching a hard layer of earth beneath the structure foundation.
Crews are installing steel pipe piles from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays and weekends, as needed, for approximately one month.
Crews may mobilize equipment as early as 6 a.m., and some activities may occur from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. as needed.
