UPDATE! Northbound (NB) I-405 Off-Ramp to Warner Avenue to Close for 21 Hours

Crews will pour concrete for the Warner Avenue bridge over I-405, and this will require the northbound (NB) I-405 off-ramp to Warner to be closed for approximately 21 hours.

The ramp will be closed as early as 10 p.m. June 29, to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 30.

UPDATE! Southbound (SB) I-405 Warner Avenue On- and Off-Ramps to Close for Approximately Six Weeks

Crews will close the SB I-405 straight on-ramp from Warner and the SB I-405 loop off-ramp to Warner for approximately six weeks to accommodate the freeway widening.

The ramp closures are anticipated for mid-July.

To accommodate the ramp closures, crews will also need to close eastbound (EB) Warner between Magnolia Street and I-405 and SB I-405 between the SB I-405 off-ramp to Magnolia and the SB I-405 loop on-ramp from Brookhurst Street for one night.

The EB Warner and SB I-405 closures are anticipated for one night in mid-July.

The 405 Community Outreach Team will provide detailed closure, detour, and schedule information in future alerts.

NEW! Northbound (NB) and Southbound (SB) I-405 Closures for Restriping and to Adjust Falsework for the Bolsa Avenue Bridge

Crews will restripe lanes and adjust falsework for the Bolsa bridge over I-405.

This work will require NB I-405 closures between the NB I-405 off-ramp to Beach Boulevard and the NB I-405 on-ramp from Goldenwest Street.

This work will also require SB I-405 closures between the SB I-405 off-ramp to Westminster Boulevard/Willow Lane and the SB I-405 on-ramp from Beach Boulevard/Center Avenue.

NB I-405 closures are anticipated for:

  • 11 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, to 5 a.m. Wednesday, July 6; and again
  • 11 p.m. Friday, July 8, to 6 a.m. Saturday, July 9.

SB I-405 closures are anticipated for:

  • 11 p.m. Wednesday, July 6, to 5 a.m. Thursday, July 7; and again
  • 11 p.m. Thursday, July 7, to 5 a.m. Friday, July 8.

UPDATE! Northbound (NB) and Southbound (SB) I-405 Closures to Install Falsework for the I-405/SR-73 Connector

Crews are installing falsework for the I-405/SR-73 Connector over I-405.

This work requires NB I-405 closures between the NB I-405 off-ramp to South Coast Drive and the NB I-405 on-ramp from Hyland Avenue.

Ongoing closures are anticipated as early as 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Thursday, and 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Friday.

  • Nightly NB I-405 closures are anticipated to continue through Friday, July 8, on weeknights.*

*I-405 closures will be suspended on Friday, July 1, and Monday, July 4, in observance of the Independence Day holiday.

COMING SOON! Northbound (NB) Loop On-Ramp from Harbor Boulevard to Close for Approximately One Month

Crews will close the NB I-405 loop on-ramp from Harbor Boulevard for approximately one month to accommodate the freeway widening.

The ramp closure is anticipated for July 2022.

The 405 Community Outreach Team will provide updates in future alerts.

NEW! Fairview Road Bridge Closure for Waterline Installation and Pavement Work

Crews will install a waterline in the new portion of the Fairview Road bridge over I-405 as well as conduct pavement and street restoration work.

This work will require full Fairview bridge closures between McCormack Lane and South Coast Drive.

The closures are anticipated as early as 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.:

  • Thursday, June 30;
  • Saturday, July 9;
  • Wednesday, July 13; and
  • Thursday, June 14.

REMINDER! Southbound (SB) I-405 On-Ramp from Bolsa Avenue Closed for Approximately One Month

Crews closed the SB I-405 on-ramp from Bolsa Avenue to accommodate the freeway widening.

The ramp closed Wednesday, May 25, and is anticipated to reopen in early July.

REMINDER! Northbound (NB) I-405 Straight On-Ramp from Brookhurst Street Closed for Approximately One Month

Crews closed the NB I-405 straight on-ramp from Brookhurst Street to accommodate the freeway widening.

The ramp closed Monday, June 27, and is anticipated to open after approximately one month.

REMINDER! Cadillac Trail Partial Closure Extended

Crews reduced a portion of the bike and pedestrian trail between Cadillac Avenue and the Santa Ana River Trail in Costa Mesa. This lane reduction is extended to the end of this week for construction of a sound wall adjacent to SB I-405.

Flaggers will assist cyclists and pedestrians around the lane reduction, as needed.

Construction activity is anticipated for 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Crews may mobilize equipment as early as 6 a.m., and some activities may occur from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

REMINDER! Northbound (NB) I-405/Westbound (WB) SR-22 On-Ramp from Valley View Street Closed for Approximately Two Months

Crews closed the NB I-405/WB SR-22 on-ramp from Valley View Street to accommodate the freeway widening.

The ramp closed Monday, June 6, and is anticipated to reopen August 2022.

REMINDER! Southbound (SB) I-405/Eastbound (EB) SR-22 Connector Extended Lane Reduction

Crews reduced the SB I-405/EB SR-22 connector to two lanes for pavement activity.

The lane reductions began Friday, June 10, and will be in place for approximately two months.

Montecito Channel

REMINDER! Crews demolished a portion of the sound wall along the westbound (WB) SR-22/7th Street connector, adjacent to the Montecito Channel, behind homes on College Park Drive and are preparing the foundation for the new wall; anticipated to be constructed summer 2022.

Temporary fencing and sound blankets were installed.

Crews may access the work zone, intermittently along College Park Drive and from the WB SR-22 connector, to mobilize equipment as early as 6 a.m., and some activities may occur at night from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. as needed

North Gate Road

UPDATE! Pile installation for the sound wall adjacent to North Gate Road is on hold for approximately two weeks.

Crews will resume pile installation as early as Monday, July 11, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Crews may mobilize equipment as early as 6 a.m., and some activities may occur from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

REMINDER! Crews will close North Gate Road for approximately three months to conduct sewer work.

Vehicles, bicyclists and pedestrians will be detoured to Golden Rain Road to enter and exit Leisure World.

The closure is anticipated to begin as early as Tuesday, July 5, for approximately three months.

Sewer work is anticipated 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays, for approximately three months. Crews may mobilize equipment as early as 6 a.m., and some activities may occur from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. as needed.

Almond Avenue

REMINDER! Crews will continue constructing the sound walls along northbound (NB) I-405, adjacent to Almond Avenue.

Construction activities are ongoing between, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Crews may mobilize equipment as early as 6 a.m., and some activities may occur from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. as needed.

Springdale Street

REMINDER! Crews will continue constructing the new traffic signal at the Westminster Boulevard/Springdale Street intersection as part of the bridges’ reconstruction.

Activities include permanent pole foundation work, as well as electrical work. After the temporary signal is complete, crews will begin construction of the permanent traffic signal.

Construction of the permanent signal is ongoing, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays and Saturdays, as needed.

This work will also include intermittent nighttime lane reductions on Springdale and Westminster.

Crews may mobilize equipment as early as 6 a.m., and some activities may occur from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. as needed.

Bolsa Avenue

REMINDER! Crews will continue constructing the sound wall adjacent to southbound (SB) I-405, between the Bolsa Avenue bridge and the railroad.

Activities are ongoing 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., and crews may mobilize equipment as early as 6 a.m., and some activities may occur from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. as needed.
