NOW OPEN! Southbound (SB) I-405 Brookhurst Street On- and Off-Ramps
The I-405 on- and off-ramps at Brookhurst Street are now open.
UPDATE! Full Beach Boulevard Closure to Activate New Traffic Signal
Crews will close Beach Boulevard between McFadden Avenue and Center Avenue to activate the new traffic signal for the Beach/Center intersection and to remove the temporary poles.
The closure is anticipated for 11 p.m. Thursday, April 21, to 5 a.m. Friday, April 22.

REMINDER! Northbound (NB) I-405 Loop On-Ramp from Seal Beach Boulevard to Close for Approximately One Month
Crews will close the NB I-405 loop on-ramp from Seal Beach Boulevard for approximately one month to accommodate the freeway widening.
The closure is anticipated to start as early as 10 p.m. Monday, April 25.

REMINDER! Northbound (NB) I-405 On-Ramp from Fairview Road and the Southbound (SB) I-405 Off-Ramp to Fairview Road Closed for Approximately One Month
Crews closed the NB I-405 on-ramp from Fairview and the SB I-405 off-ramp to Fairview to accommodate the freeway widening.
The ramps closed Monday, April 11, and are anticipated to reopen in approximately one month.
Also, the SB Fairview Road bridge will be reduced to one lane between the freeway ramps for approximately one week in early May.
The 405 Community Outreach Team will provide detailed schedule information in future alerts.
UPDATE! Northbound (NB) I-405 and Goldenwest Street Bridge Closures to Remove Falsework
Crews will continue removing the falsework from the Goldenwest Street bridge over I-405. This work requires nightly NB I-405 closures between Beach Boulevard and Westminster Boulevard.
The falsework removal will also require Goldenwest bridge closures.
Nightly NB I-405 closures are ongoing through Friday, April 22, and will be scheduled 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. today, April 20, and Thursday, April 21, and 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Friday, April 22.
The bridge closures will be scheduled 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.:

- Friday, April 22
REMINDER! Northbound (NB)I-405 Closures to Install Warner Avenue Bridge Falsework
Crews will continue installing falsework for the Warner Avenue bridge over I-405 using freeway lane reductions.
This work will require nightly NB I-405 closures between the NB I-405 off-ramp to Warner Avenue/ Magnolia Street and the NB I-405 loop on-ramp from Magnolia Street.
Nightly NB I-405 closures are anticipated to continue through April 29, and will be scheduled 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Thursday, and 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Friday.
REMINDER! Northbound (NB) and Southbound (NB)
I-405 Closures to Install Falsework for the NB I-405/SR-73 Connector
Crews are installing falsework for the NB I-405/SR-73 connector bridge.
This work requires nightly NB I-405 closures between the NB I-405 off-ramp to South Coast Drive and the NB I-405 on-ramp from Hyland Avenue and nightly SB I-405 closures between the SB I-405 off-ramp to Harbor and the SB I-405 on-ramp from Bristol Street.
Closures will be scheduled 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Thursday, and 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Friday, on weekdays.
Nightly NB I-405 closures are ongoing through April 29. The NB I-405/SR-73 connector will also be closed between 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.
Nightly SB I-405 closures are ongoing through Friday, April 22.
REMINDER! Southbound (SB) I-405 Goldenwest Street On-Ramp and Bolsa Avenue Off-Ramp Closed
Crews closed the SB I-405 loop off-ramp to Bolsa Avenue and the SB I-405 loop on-ramp from Goldenwest Street to accommodate the freeway widening.
The SB I-405 loop off-ramp to Bolsa closed on Saturday, March 12, and is anticipated to reopen in approximately two months.
The SB I-405 loop on-ramp from Goldenwest closed on Saturday, March 12, and is anticipated to reopen in approximately four months.
REMINDER! Westbound (WB) SR-22 On-Ramp from Old Ranch Parkway Closure
Crews closed the Old Ranch Parkway on-ramp to WB SR-22 on April 13, 2021.
The ramp is anticipated to reopen in spring 2022.

New Features for Beach Boulevard!
The northbound (NB) I-405 straight off-ramp to Beach Boulevard has a new traffic signal! The ramp is updated with five lanes including two dedicated right-turn and two dedicated left-turn lanes, as well as a shared lane for both right and left-turn movements.
As part of the final design for the intersection, the NB I-405 loop off-ramp has been permanently eliminated.
Construction Activities
Montecito Channel
UPDATE! Crews will continue demolishing a portion of the sound wall along the westbound (WB) SR-22/7th Street connector, adjacent to the Montecito Channel, behind homes on College Park Drive.
A new wall is anticipated to be constructed summer 2022 as part of the improvement project.
Temporary fencing and sound blankets were installed.
Demolition activities are ongoing, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. for approximately one week, on weekdays and Saturdays, as needed.
Crews may access the work zone, intermittently along College Park Drive and from the WB SR-22 connector, to mobilize equip as early as 6 a.m., and some activities may occur at night from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

North Gate Road
UPDATE! Crews completed a portion of the pile installation activities for the southeast end of the wall along North Gate Road. Pile installation for the northwest end of the wall is anticipated to continue in late May 2022.

Almond Avenue
REMINDER! Crews are constructing the sound walls along northbound I-405, adjacent to Almond Avenue. The block portion of the wall is anticipated to start construction in spring 2022.
Crews may mobilize equipment as early as 6 a.m., and some activities may occur from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. as needed.

Springdale Street
REMINDER! Crews will continue installing piles for the foundation of the outside abutments for the Springdale Street bridge over I-405. The foundation consists of 226 piles.
Pile installation activities are ongoing, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays and Saturdays, as needed for approximately six weeks.
This work will also include intermittent nighttime lane reductions on Springdale and Westminster.
Crews may mobilize equipment as early as 6 a.m., and some activities may occur from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. as needed.

Springdale Street
REMINDER! Crews are constructing a temporary traffic signal at the Westminster Boulevard/Springdale Street intersection as part of the bridges’ reconstruction.
Activities include installing temporary wooden poles, concrete removal and restoration, permanent pole foundation work, as well as electrical work. After the temporary signal is complete, crews will begin construction of the permanent traffic signal.
Construction of the temporary signal is ongoing, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays and Saturdays, as needed.
This work will also include intermittent nighttime lane reductions on Springdale and Westminster.
Crews may mobilize equipment as early as 6 a.m., and some activities may occur from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. as needed.

Bolsa Avenue
REMINDER! Crews are constructing the sound wall along southbound (SB) I-405, between the Bolsa Avenue bridge and the railroad.
Activities include soil backfill and compaction, placing concrete forms, and pouring concrete.
Crews are also removing shoring beams from the area between the new retaining wall and the property walls.
Shoring removal is ongoing 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays and Saturdays, as needed for approximately two more days.
Construction is ongoing, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays and Saturdays, as needed.
This work will also include intermittent nighttime lane reductions on SB I-405, between Bolsa Avenue and McFadden Avenue.
Crews may mobilize equipment as early as 6 a.m., and some activities may occur from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. as needed.

Newland Street
REMINDER! Crews will continue installing piles for the foundation of the Newland Street bridge over I-405.
The foundation consists of three large diameter cast-in-drilled-hole (CIDH) piles. Crews will use an auger to drill large holes, install forms and steel cages and pour concrete into the holes to form the piles.
Pile installation activities are ongoing, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.,for approximately one month, on weekdays and Saturdays as needed.
This work may also include intermittent nighttime lane reductions on northbound and southbound I-405, between Edinger Avenue and the Heil Avenue pedestrian bridge from
9 p.m. to 6 a.m..
Crews may mobilize equipment as early as 6 a.m., and some activities may occur from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. as needed.

Brookhurst Street
REMINDER! Crews are installing piles for the foundation of the Brookhurst Street bridge over I-405. 132 piles will be used.

UPDATE! The closures that were scheduled to work on columns at Harbor were postponed to a later date.

I-405/SR-73 HOV Connector
UPDATE! Crews are working on the foundation of the southbound (SB) I-405/SR-73 HOV connector bridge. The foundation consists of 8 cast-in-drilled hole (CIDH) and 35 steel pipe piles.
The CIDH activity includes installing large-diameter casings approximately 200 feet into the ground.
The steel pipe piles will be driven into the soil until reaching a hard layer of earth beneath the structure foundation.
Crews will begin installing the steel pipe piles as early as Tuesday, April 26, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays and weekends, as needed, for approximately one month.
Crews may mobilize equipment as early as 6 a.m., and some activities may occur from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. as needed.
