ANAHEIM, Calif. (May 4, 2022) – Marlon Garcia, a 22-year-old, male Anaheim resident has been arrested on suspicion of murdering his 59-year-old roommate.
On Tuesday, May 3, 2022, just after 6:30 p.m., Anaheim Police Dispatch received a call reporting Marlon Garcia was at a residence in the 500 block of N. Philadelphia Street, in violation of a court order.
Officers arrived on scene and attempted to contact Garcia who was outside upon their arrival. Garcia attempted to flee back into the home via an already broken, glass window. Garcia caused lacerations to himself in his attempt to escape but he was successfully detained by responding officers.
Officers conducted a sweep of the residence and inside, they discovered the body of Santos Castillo, a 59-year-old Anaheim resident, who appeared to have suffered trauma. Garcia and Castillo were roommates at the location.
Garcia was transported to a local area hospital for treatment of his injuries before being booked at the Anaheim Police Department Jail in lieu of $1 million bail.
