ANAHEIM, Calif. (August 31, 2021) – Anaheim homicide detectives are investigating a homicide that lead to an officer involved shooting in Anaheim.
On August 31, 2021, at about 11:54 a.m. Anaheim police officers responded to a residence in the 2400 block of W. Greenleaf Avenue after a subject called police and claimed to have been shot. Officers arrived on scene and entered the residence in question in order to locate the possible victim. While inside, officers observed an apparent homicide victim before being confronted by an armed suspect. An officer involved shooting occurred and at least one police officer fired their weapon. The initial responding officers backed out of the home and they were replaced by Anaheim PD SWAT officers.
APD SWAT officers entered the home and located two deceased adult males, one of which was involved in the officer involved shooting. Anaheim PD homicide detectives are working to determine the motive for the apparent homicide and the relationship between the two deceased subjects. Investigators from the Orange County District Attorney’s Office are conducting an investigation into the officer involved shooting. No Anaheim police officers were injured as a result of the incident.
