International award-winning musician Gregg Young recently received incredible news that his song, “Vax,” is being considered in the Best American Roots Song category for the 65th annual Grammy Awards.
“Vax” is a short and sweet, catchy and upbeat tune that can easily get stuck in your head. It was produced by Gregg last year and recorded at Mambo Sound & Recording in Long Beach with Engineer Steve McNeil. Gregg wrote it after experiencing the dark times of the pandemic, with the goal of encouraging us all to come together to make the world a safer place.
“Vax” is my call-to-action song to get our entire world vaccinated,” he said.
Ever since Gregg started writing songs and performing, he has hoped to make our spaces a little brighter with his music. Whether it’s setting a positive tone or providing an escape, he strives to help people and “Vax” is his most recent example of this.
Gregg has enjoyed hearing stories of people sharing “Vax” with their friends as a little boost of courage or reminder to get the shot. Sometimes it’s not what you say but how you say it and this fun track has helped lighten the topic that hasn’t always been so easy for everyone to talk about.
After being considered for the Grammys last year with his song, “Together (Hk),” Gregg has looked forward to the possibility of “Vax” getting that same opportunity. He’s so happy and honored to see “Vax” shine while emphasizing an important subject and hopes you all follow along as he goes through this exciting Grammy journey.
