Members of the California congregation have a new ritual to prepare for as the church of Ghost brings their Skeletour global tour to SoCal.
Based on their new album, “Skeleta,” the Swedish metal band led by mastermind Tobias Forge will begin the American leg of the tour on July 9th and continue into August with 30+ dates.
This is just after coming off of a 16-date European leg, and having Papa V Perpetua participating in the monumental farewell show for Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath! While there are still many shows to come, California fans will get the chance to see Papa V and his Ghouls on August 10th in San Diego at the Viejas Arena.
Ghost has been a prominent name in the metal world for over 15 years with several albums, an entire world of lore filled with a Satanic clergy, including five popes – or Papas – and one feature concert film, “Rite Here Rite Now.”
Fans can expect to hear some favorites like “Mary on a Cross,” “Square Hammer,” “Year Zero,” “Dance Macabre,” “Call Me Little Sunshine,” “Life Eternal,” and “Rats.”

When Ghost first materialized in 2006, they entranced audiences across Europe with their costumed theatricality, impressive sets with intricate motifs, and masterful songs about religious experiences, politics, and the human experience.

From their 2010 album, “Opus Eponymous,” to their newest album, “Skeleta,” Ghost has continued to dominate the world stage, garnering respect and praise from titans in the metal world.
Over the past few years, Ghost has been transitioning to arena rock with their enthralling performances which have allowed them to play in some of the biggest venues across North America alone.
The Viejas Arena will be able to accommodate their larger-than-life performance, which will allow for an ideal Ghost ritual.
