Gangbangers suspected in a fatal shooting in Santa Ana

January 3, 2025 — Police Detectives are conducting a homicide investigation regarding a 38-year-old man who was shot and killed, according to the SAPD.

On Thursday, January 2, 2025, at approximately 7:41 p.m., Santa Ana Police Communications received a report of a shooting in the east alley of 1400 S. Standard Avenue.

Police officers responded to the scene and located a man, identified as Gerson Ramirez (38) of Santa Ana, unresponsive and suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Orange County Fire Authority also responded and pronounced Ramirez deceased at the scene.

At this time, the motive surrounding the shooting is under investigation. Homicide Detectives are attempting to identify and locate additional witnesses who can provide information about the homicide.
