Santa Ana College’s baseball team has secured the No. 4 seed in the CCCAA SoCal Regional Bracket and will host the No. 13 seeded Santa Barbara City Vaqueros in the first round on Friday, May 6 and Saturday, May 7.
First pitch is set for 2 p.m. on Friday afternoon and 11 a.m. on Saturday. If needed, game three will take place following the conclusion of game two on Saturday.
The Dons finished the regular season with a 29-10-1 overall record and 13-8 record conference mark while taking third in the Orange Empire Conference standings.
SAC will face a Santa Barbara team that finished second in the Western States, North Conference with a record of 23-17 and 16-8.
The series will match teams that have quite opposite strengths. The Dons can put up runs with the best of them, ranking 9th in the state with 374 for the season while Santa Barbara leans on its pitching staff that allowed just 204 while posting a 3.92 team ERA and ranks 10th in the state.
Tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for studfents, faculty, staff, senior citizens 60 and over and children under 12 years of age.
